Ultimately, June came down to the best streak versus the best record. The best record won out. David Funke put up a record 17 game streak (with a three game start in May), but managed just a 7-9 record in the second half of June after the streak ended. Funke had a shot to take over the lead on the final day of the month, but results didn't go his way and there's no shame in 67 points for a month. Mike Brekke had an impressive 13 game streak of his own along with two more five game streaks and a total of just four wrong picks for the entire month, one of which was an expired postponement. Strangely enough, his only incorrect pick after the 10th of June was at the hands of Edwin Jackson's no-hitter.
All in all, June was a extensively high scoring month when compared to April and May. Thirteen members managed streaks of ten games or more compared to just one in May and three in April. Both April and May saw seven members top or match 20 points and 13 members top or match ten points. June saw 16 participants over 20 points and 21 members at or above ten points. June also had five members top April's high score of 40 points and six members top May's high score of 37 points.
The number of bonus points earned this month for each member are now updated on the Bonus Points (2010-2011) thread, the running bonus points standings for the season. David Funke earned the extra BP for having the best DMU record of the month at 4-0 after scoring more points than Kevin Cheek who also finished with the same DMU record. |
