The July winner was basically decided by one pick. Aaron Freeman led Dave Berrong 35-31 heading into July 27th, but picked the Yankees incorrectly to end a five game winning streak. Berrong correctly selected the Phillies to extend his streak to six games on the way to finishing out the month without an incorrect pick to secure the month win on 49 points with Freeman in second. Robert Flatt's third place finish could have easily been higher in the standings had he not fallen victim to an incorrect pick on the 26th to end a seven game streak, though he followed that pick up with another incorrect pick on the 27th.
July's scores came back down to normal after a high scoring June. Berrong's 49 points would have finished fourth last month. After finishing April in 29th, Berrong has followed things up with finishes of 3rd, 6th and 1st to vault to 3rd in the regular season standings.
The number of bonus points earned this month for each member are now updated on the Bonus Points (2010-2011) thread, the running bonus points standings for the season. Three members managed to tie for the long streak of the month at 10 games, but Dave Berrong gets the extra BP by having finished highest in the standings between the three. Berrong also gets the extra BP for having the best pick record (24-5) for the month by a game over Robert Flatt. David Synychak earned the extra BP for having the best DMU record of the month at 4-0. |
