The bug was first mentioned on June 8th and after trying to sort it out between all my other obligations for the last two months I've spent the last week tracking it to set up what I hope will prove my theory behind the bug.
I believe the bug occurs when any member submits their pick or picks to the system while the automatic scoring calculations are being run. This happens every 15 minutes, around two to six or seven minutes after the 15 minute increment on the hour, i.e. 3:17-3:22 PM or 10:32-10:37 AM.
I've fixed a few instances of the bug that fell within that time frame each day for the last week and didn't see a single instance of the bug coming up outside of that range.
As a last verification that I'm correct in identifying the source of the bug, I'm going to turn off the automatic calculations for the rest of the week. If there aren't any instances of the bug through Sunday, I'll be confident I've identified the bug. If there are, then it's back to the drawing board.
As a result of the automatic scoring calculations being de-activated, the scoring will only update when I manually launch them. This could result in delays between scoring updates, though I intend to keep them as small as possible.
On another note, the server is now sending emails without any problems, you can ignore the previous article. |
