The third week has allowed me to go back to the type of DMU frequency I hope to use throughout the season, perhaps even a little bit more than normal. However, not many of the matchups selected as DMUs this week are between teams that would have been expected to make the postseason prior to the season. The Royals, Indians, Astros, Mets, Cubs, Padres, Nationals and Pirates are all featured twice. The Royals and Indians are currently tied atop the AL Central at 9-4. Two of the four games in their series to start the week will be DMUs. The Cubs and Padres are both sporting 6-7 records and will also see two DMUs during their early-week series. The Mets and Astros are within a half game of each other and will receive the same treatment. The Nationals and Pirates (both 6-7), will receive the same treatment in their series which ends the week. Three divisional series will also see at least one DMU, Giants-Rockies on Tuesday, White Sox-Tigers on Friday & Sunday, and Reds-Cardinals, also on Friday & Sunday. A projected Ubaldo Jimenez-Josh Johnson matchup next Sunday is the only DMU that doesn't fall into one of the categories already mentioned. In total, there will be 14 DMUs this week over five days.
