| Introduction |
|
ASFL2 Euro 2012 Pickem is meant to provide a means of competition during the what many consider to be the second best soccer tournament in the world. The game will be scored based on predicted individual game results, submitted both before and during the competition and cumulative group results, submitted before the tournament begins.
The pre-tournament entries is due before the first game of the tournament begins and is broken down into a group stage and knockout round section. You need to submit the group stage portion of your entry before the knockout rounds portion as it determines the seeds for your knockout round bracket. If you alter your group stage entry after submitting your knockout round bracket and the alteration changes your bracket structure, you'll need to resubmit your knockout rounds entry or any points you would have earned from the nation that was misplaced will be nullified as penalty points.
The in-tournament score picks are due before the scheduled start time of each of the 31 games. You can change your pick as often as you'd like up to that point.

Group Stage |
|
The pre-tournament entry's group stage is scored based on the 24 group stage games, six from each of the four groups. The system will automatically calculate the standings for each group based on the score you submit for each game.
The tiebreaking procedure for the Euro 2012 is, (1) goal difference, (2) goals for, (3) points earned between tied teams, (4) goal difference in games between tied teams, (5) number of goals scored in games between tied teams. |

Knockout Rounds |
|
Two teams advance from each group into the knockout rounds starting with the quarterfinals. The full bracket layout can be found on the Tournament Bracket page.
To submit your knockout round entry, choose the team you have winning each game via dropdown on the submission page. Make sure you're picking semifinals which you already picked to win the quarterfinals or the submission will result in an error.
You can submit your game score picks up until the scheduled start time. This is true even if the teams aren't set. Any submitted score before the teams are set will correspond to the seed associated with the game. Any game that ends in PKs is scored as a tie officially, to earn three points for the correct result, you'll need to submit a tie score line with correctly picking the PK winner worth an additional point. Games that finish in extra time aren't noted as ties, they stick to full score line. You don't need to note if you predict a game will go to extra time. |

Euro 2012 Pickem follows the standard ASFL2 scoring formula of  , where n is the number of members, m is the maximum point value and r is the member's rank. The full member total is also used in the calculations for the picks percentage standings.
The maximum values for both are given as the default values in the text boxes above. To return to the default values, leave the field blank when submitting. The member total is also calcuated based on the current standings. |
