Numbers

Each sport will have a different base number of keeper spots as each sport has a different number of starting positions and a different roster size.
Baseball will have 9 base keeper spots, 56% of the starters and 41% of the roster.
Basketball will have 5 base keeper spots, 55% of the starters and 38% of the roster.
Football will have 6 base keeper spots, 67% of the starters and 38% of the roster.
Hockey will have 7 base keeper spots, 54% of the starters and 38% of the roster.

General Rules

Any team can only keep two players at any position aside from starting pitchers (max of five) and outfielders in baseball (max of three) and wide receivers in football (max of three) with one utility spot to fill that doesn't count against a position's two player limit in every sport but football and applying to non-goalies in hockey and only hitters in baseball.

Teams are allowed to forfeit keeper spots to move a round ahead (per spot forfeited) in the draft of everyone who used all of their keeper spots.

For example, in basketball there will be five base keeper spots. The first five rounds of the draft will be filled by teams keeping their players from last year. Team A has the sixth pick in the draft order, while Team B has the thirteenth selection along with a new manager that was relegated from a higher division last season, and Team C has the second selection along with a manager that was promoted from a lower division the season before. Team A uses all five of their keeper selections and their first pick of the draft will be the sixth of the sixth round. Team B uses all four of their four allotted keeper league selections with their fifth being forfeited due to relegation. Their first pick will be the thirteenth of the sixth round with their second being the second of the seventh round. Their third pick will be a compensation pick at the end of the seventh round. Team C uses four of their five keeper selections, making their first pick the second of the fifth round, their second the second of the sixth round and their third the thirteenth of the seventh round.

Offseason Trades

Teams will also be allowed to trade away or acquire extra keeper spots during the offseason. All keeper spots traded during the offseason will only effect the following season. All teams will have the standard number of keeper spots (with one less to the managers who were relegated) at the start of each offseason. No trade will effect the positional limits.
Each draft page features an email feature to allow members to conduct trade talks with their peers. When two members agree on a trade, both involved need to email me at bsoester@bellsouth.net with the trade included to make it official. This is the only instance where an email to that address is required. If the emails don't match up with the same trade I will email those involved to correct the mistake.
