Money Leagues NCAA Tournament Winnings
12:09 AM ET on 4/15/15 by Jay Soester
Congrats to Chris Prentice for taking the top spot in our ASFL2 Money Leagues $5 NCAA Tournament Pickem Pool.

Prentice's winning total of 107 was the best total since the scoring changed in 2012 and earned him $207. He edged out last year's champ, Thomas Courtney, and Joseph Alperto at 103 points. Courtney won the tiebreaker for the second spot and $55 while Alperto settled for $27.50. This is Courtney's second season in a row finishing in second place. John Tabaska (101 points), Todd Pfander (99), Brandon Moore (99), and Robert Goldenberg (98) finished fourth through seventh to earn their entry fee back for finishing in the top 10% of the 73 paid entries, but outside of the top three. Had Wisconsin won the championship game, Courtney would have topped the pool with Tabaska in second and Pfander in third.

First Place: Chris Prentice ($207)
Second Place: Thomas Courtney ($55)
Third Place: Joseph Alperto ($27.50)
4th Place: John Tabaska ($5)
5th Place: Todd Pfander ($5)
6th Place: Brandon Moore ($5)
7th Place: Robert Goldenberg ($5)

Thank you to everyone that participated.

Money Leagues NCAA Tournament Winnings
4:18 PM ET on 4/19/14 by Jay Soester
Congrats to Tom Courtney for taking the top two spots in our ASFL2 Money Leagues $5 NCAA Tournament Pickem Pool. It's the first time in the history of the game that someone has taken the top two spots in a pool.

Courtney's winning total was just 79 points, still five more than his second place entry. David Kise was tied for second, but officially third, with 74 points as well. Only two other brackets reached the 70 point mark. Only five of 31 entries had two Final Four participants and none had a team in the Championship.

First Place: Tom Courtney ($93)
Second Place: Tom Courtney ($31)
Third Place: David Kise ($15.50)

Thank you to everyone that participated. Winnings have been sent via PayPal.

MLB Day-to-Day Pickem Available
10:54 PM ET on 3/13/13 by Jay Soester
The original unofficial game, MLB Day-to-Day Pickem, is back for its fourth edition on the league website. Pick one team to win each day through the MLB regular season. You get points for correct picks and lose points for incorrect picks with correct pick streaks gaining more points as you go. The only catch is you can't pick the same team to win more than twice in a given game week.

For those that haven't taken part in any previous incarnations of the game, I suggest starting out with the rules page. The number of playoff qualifiers won't be determined until I have a feel for how many participants there will be, but I don't anticipate changing from the usual 25.

I'll get an in-game article about the schedule changes up in the next few days hopefully.

There aren't prizes this season (other than bonus points).

Super Bowl Pool Winnings Sent
11:49 PM ET on 2/6/12 by Jay Soester
Results for all four of 2012's Super Bowl Pools are now available. Congrats to all who saw their box result in a return on investment. All winnings have already been sent via PayPal. In a show of good faith, I've waived the competition rule stipulating that 3% of the pot goes toward covering costs associated for each pool as the house boxes covered all fees. Matthew Dixon was the big winner as he landed the final score square [7,1] in Pool #1 which netted him $150.53. Anders Nilsson was the most frequent winner as his 30 squares across the three $1, random pools resulted in three squares hitting in Pool #3 to net $70.55. Hopefully we see everyone back to try their luck next season.

I've begun accepting NCAA Tournament Pool sign-ups for our $1 or $5 groups. The groups themselves should be available in a few weeks.

I haven't decided if I'll attempt to run Fantasy Baseball leagues this season. With my finding a job, the need for them isn't as high while the difficulty in filling them often is. If anyone is interested in helping me fill them, let me know, I'm willing to split the proceeds proportionally based on help.

NCAA Tournament $5 Pool Results
3:13 PM ET on 4/6/11 by Jay Soester
There were 52 entries in the ASFL2 Money Leagues $5 NCAA Tournament Pool this season. Matthew Hines' "Outlaw Immortals" ran away with the group at 77 points as the only member to pick Connecticut to win the championship. Adam Segal was the only other participant to pick them to reach the final and he finished second with 68 points as a result, despite his selecting Pittsburgh as the champion. The next three in line all had Connecticut in the Final Four to narrowly break into the money spots. Five others had at least one Final Four participant, but none of the rest finished higher than eighth. Perhaps the most interesting story was "KJAC2" which finished 33rd on 48 points, but would have finished with 66 points, and in first place, had Kentucky won the national championship.

Top 10:
1) Matthew Hines - Outlaw Immortals - 77 Points
2) Adam Segal - Segal2 - 68 Points
3) Matt Dodson - Bracket Buster - 62 Points
4) Aaron Freeman - Avalaunchers - 61 Points
5) Robert Boyce - sportsfanrobby - 61 Points
6) Jason Oroszi - O.Z. - 60 Points
7) Anders Nilsson - Suzerain$52 - 59 Points
8) Anthony Pena Jr. - HeadHunter's - 59 Points
9) Robert Boyce - sportsfanrobby2 - 59 Points
10) Buck Meier - Okoboji Walleyes - 58 Points

Winnings:
Matthew Hines - $150 (60% of $250)
Adam Segal - $50 (20% of $250)
Matt Dodson - $25 (10% of $250)
Aaron Freeman - $5 (Entry Fee for Top 10% Finish)
Robert Boyce - $5 (Entry Fee for Top 10% Finish)

Winnings will be sent to those who paid via PayPal tonight. If you paid via check, you'll be contact tonight for address confirmation.
