On Saturday, I woke up to find my primary Yahoo! account deleted without an explanation. I had been recruiting for the league with it for around a week on the Yahoo! message boards, but I didn't do anything I haven't done in the past eight years of having the ID.
As a result of the account deletion, my old email account (theasfl@yahoo.com), no longer exists. I will be using commish@theasfl.com from now on. Please update your contacts. The only other things affected by this with the league are my personal fantasy teams that were on the account. For Fantasy Golf and Fantasy NASCAR, I've created an independent scorer assignment on the message board so that a neutral party will be able to verify that my score is accurate for the rest of the season. The number of allocations I have left for both teams has been noted and I will be tallying up the score for the rest of the season; what you see in the golf and NASCAR groups on Yahoo!, won't be accurate. Unfortunately, barring a miracle, my baseball teams are lost for the season; but I've connected to teams in my leagues to be able to view and update the results. In more positive league news, I needed to send this warning email to try to prevent emails from the new address from getting sent to junk email folders before Fantasy Football league designations are sent. The designations for the main competition should start going out in the next 24 hours. Please make sure commish@theasfl.com is set to get through any filters. The filling of vacant Keeper Leagues teams started the night before the account was deleted and has continued all week. I will begin sending Keeper Leagues Yahoo! league IDs and passwords Thursday along with draft time frame information. Each division's draft is available on the league website. The deadline to select your players to be kept for next season is August 1st at 11:59 PM ET for hockey and August 10th at 11:59 PM ET for basketball. ASASFL qualifiers have been further refined and the respective drafts are now available on the league website. Emails with Yahoo! league IDs and passwords as well as information on the draft time table, how things work and the Champions League draft order draft should be sent on Thursday. In other league news, Yahoo! opened four games on Thursday. College Football Pickem (ID = 315/Pass = 123456), NFL Pickem (431/123456), NFL Survival Pickem (264/123456) & Fantasy Premier League (524/123456) became available. Fantasy Premier League is run through the Yahoo! Eurosport website, but is usually visible through the standard Yahoo! Fantasy Sports front page. As a parting piece of information, please fill out a 2009-2010 Review Survey. It can go a long way in determining which directions I go in upgrading the website in the next year, though with the account deletion moving games from the Yahoo! website to the league's website has moved up the list. Once all of the emails and drafts are sorted out I will begin work on getting NFL Standings Pickem together on the league's fantasy game website. Watch for more information in the coming weeks. For anyone wondering how I sent this email if the account was deleted, I used the website to send an email through the server with the return address set to my old address. |
