ASFL2 Newsletter #22 (3/20/13)

The NCAA Tournament gets underway tonight with the first Fantasy Baseball draft on Thursday. Time for an update...

Games Available

There are currently eight games available, four through Yahoo! and four on the website with four of the eight being unofficial games. To participate in any of our games on the website, click the "Sign Up" link on the game page then use the "Submit Your Picks" link to enter your predictions.

Fantasy Golf is still available with two weeks left before the cutoff for this season. The game is run through Yahoo! and the ID is 830 with a password of 123456.

Fantasy NASCAR is four weeks old and run through Yahoo!. The ID is 1749 with a password of 123456.

The bracket is now available for NCAA Tournament Pickem. The game is also on Yahoo! and the ID is 340 with a password of 123456. Make sure to get your bracket picked before the first game Thursday afternoon. The ID for our $1 Money League pool is 386 and the ID for our $5 pool is 356, the password for both is 123456.

The first Fantasy Baseball is Thursday night with available draft times available on the message board. There aren't many spots remaining, please get your preference to me as soon as possible if you aren't in a league already. Keep watch of your inbox for your league designation.

MLB Day-to-Day Pickem is the only unofficial game not to have started yet. The original unofficial game is back for its fourth turn on the website, the goal is to pick one winner each day across all MLB games for the day. The catch is you can only pick one team twice per game week.

Premier League Pickem kicked off in August and will continue until May as one of our bigger unofficial games.

Fantasy Tennis is back on the league message board for its third season thanks to Brad Wilson. The season kicked off January 13th with the Australian Open. The fourth tournament kicks off on Wednesday.

Fantasy Formula 1 has also returned on the league message board for its fourth season with Nathan Susanto in charge. One race is in the books with the second race of the season taking place this weekend.

For more information about when games become available, check out the league timeline with the breakdown for all games on the official game list. Information on unofficial games is announced as it becomes known, but the list of recurring unofficial games is available on the Fantasy Games section's navigation bar.

Other Competitions & Other League News

First, please fill out the league survey if you haven't already. I can't understate its importance to me going forward.

Unfortunately, I've had to put the Keeper Leagues on hiatus due to my personal schedule. I hope to revive them come the next Fantasy Hockey season, but it will depend on how things shape up until then.

As mentioned earlier, the Money Leagues are still around with our NCAA Tournament Pickem pools available. We have a $1 group with an ID of 386 and a $5 group with an ID of 356. I can accept payments via PayPal, please use the "Personal" tab and then the "payment owed" option to avoid transaction fees. You can enter as many brackets as you'd like in each pool. The winnings breakdown can be found here, the top 10% are guaranteed their money back.

Elsewhere, I have to announce the Standings Pickem & Playoffs Pickem games will be taking a year off. The early survey responses have been more positive than I anticipated, but I simply ran out of time to set things up and believe trimming things down a bit this season is a good idea to free up time for me to catch up with past results and prepare going forward.

I'm still working on catching up past games, if you're willing to help me update the bonus points tallies, please let me know. At this point, I may need a lot of help.

Removing Yourself From the Newsletter List

I've finally fully automated the newsletter process to where they are now sent automatically through the website instead of my email account and they are not sent to members that are deemed retired, inactive, or banned.

If you want to be removed from the newsletter's email list, you need to update your Member Profile, including your status and which games you do or do not want to participate in.

I hope to have the option for active members to no longer receive the newsletter emails in the future.

I've also added a "Forgot Password" button to the edit member profile page.
