Happy St. Patrick's Day. The NCAA Tournament starts on Thursday and the first Fantasy Baseball draft is scheduled for 3/26, not to mention the last full newsletter was published on 3/20/2013. I've owed you all a proper newsletter for quite a while. I'd love to do more on the website, but unfortunately I work 45-50 hours per week and don't make enough to invest it back into the league. I need help creating content as well as setting up and running the games. Without volunteers like Nathan Susanto, Brad Wilson, David Cords, Patrick Cooley, Andy Nemecek and Mark Yothers who help keep games updated and help in their creation, I wouldn't be able to keep the games running at all. Susanto in particular is a big help in that his previews help create content for the front page, which the website need more of. If anyone is interested in writing previews/reviews or about any other fantasy sports rankings/advice or simply sports-related topic on the website, please let me know. I can teach you whatever you need to learn programming-wise to help make it happen. If you know someone else who would be interested, perhaps someone that is looking into writing professionally, feel free to send them my way. I have been granted media credentials in the past thanks to the website and anyone writing on it would be eligible. |
There are currently nine games available, six through Yahoo! and three on the website. To participate in any of our games on the website, click the "Sign Up" link on the game page then use the "Submit Your Picks" link to enter your predictions. The deadline for NCAA Tournament Pickem is Thursday at 12:15 PM ET. You can join our group on Yahoo! via this link. The first Fantasy Baseball draft is Thursday, March 26th at 10:15 PM ET. We currently have ten leagues available with more potentially to be added if demand merits them. You can join a few of our leagues by clicking the links in this message board thread. The original ASFL2 game, MLB Day-to-Day Pickem, is back after a one year hiatus. Participants pick one winner each day of the MLB season. If you're correct you earn points. If you're wrong, you lose points. Streaks increase your point total for wins. If you've never tried the game before, give it a whirl, this is the game that drives the most traffic to the website and our games are crucial to the league's success going forward. Fantasy Formula 1 has returned to the league message board for its sixth season thanks to Nathan Susanto. The season kicked off this past weekend with the Australian Grand Prix, but 19 races remain. Fantasy MLS is a brand new game on Yahoo! for this season. The MLS season started two weeks ago, but there's still plenty of time to climb up the ASFL2 group. Our ID is 157 and the password is 58xbf4z. Fantasy Golf kicked off the 2015-2016 ASFL2 season in January. The game is run through Yahoo! and the ID is 3312 with a password of 123456. Fantasy NASCAR is also underway for the new season. The game also runs through Yahoo! and the ID is 12436 with a password of 123456. Premier League Pickem is entering the home stretch. It kicked off in August and will continue until May as one of our bigger unofficial games. Fantasy Premier League is also entering the final stretch. Our group ID is 14923 and the password is buouq5z. For more information about when games become available, check out the league timeline with the breakdown for all games on the official game list. Information on unofficial games is announced as it becomes known, but the list of recurring unofficial games is available on the Fantasy Games section's navigation bar. I should be opening a new, mystery game on the website in the next week or two. |
Join the ASFL2 $5 NCAA Tournament Pool. The deadline for brackets is 12:15 PM ET on Thursday. You can enter as many brackets as you'd like for $5 each. The winnings breakdown can be found here and the rules can be found here. There are also two $25 Fantasy Baseball leagues available. League 1 is scheduled to draft at 5:15 PM ET on Saturday, March 28th. League 2 is scheduled to draft at 3 PM ET on Saturday, April 4th. To join either (or both) league, click the link above. Each league needs to reach eight teams in order to go on. If league 1 isn't at eight teams by the Friday before the draft, it'll be merged into league 2. All ASFL2 Money Leagues can be paid for via PayPal to bsoester@bellsouth.net. |
I've finally fully automated the newsletter process to where they are now sent automatically through the website instead of my email account and they are not sent to members that are deemed retired, inactive, or banned. If you want to be removed from the newsletter's email list, you need to update your Member Profile, including your status and which games you do or do not want to participate in. I hope to have the option for active members to no longer receive the newsletter emails in the future. I've also added a "Forgot Password" button to the edit member profile page. |
