The busy fall season is winding down while the new ASFL2 season starts January 8th with Fantasy Golf, time for some updates. |
Fantasy Football championship matchups will be known in the next 24-48 hours, but when things are settled next week I'll be returning home from a trip to New York City (I’m going against my will). I hope to have the final football standings updated by the end of the week (hopefully by Christmas, maybe by Boxing Day for those in the International Conference, the 26th to all from the USA). Salary Cap Football and NFL Pickem will be over the following week and I will update the championship point totals from it in the day or two following. Survival Pickem will be updated once the five remaining in second chance pickem are eliminated or the season ends. I hope to create the Fantasy Hockey and Basketball overall standings pages somewhere in all of this. With those four games ending, three more are starting for the 2008-2009 season, all on the league message board: College Bowl Pickem is now available on the message board. Submit your entry via this thread on the message board all entries are due by 10:55 AM EST next Saturday, December 20th. Please get your picks in as soon as possible so that I can help you correct any errors. The other two games won't be available until the NFL Season ends, Fantasy NFL Playoffs submissions can be submitted via this thread. Each week during the playoffs you pick a seven man lineup attempting to earn points in the usual Fantasy Football manner. The catch is you can't use the same player in more than one week. NFL Playoffs Pickem submissions will be submitted via this thread. The deadline for Fantasy NFL Playoffs will be 15 minutes before the first game of each NFL playoff week. The deadline for NFL Playoffs Pickem will be 15 minutes before the first game of the NFL postseason. After these three games have started, only two will remain for the 2008-09 season. |
Fortunately, the 2009-2010 season is here. Fantasy Golf is now available to join. The ID is 230 and the password is 123456. If that group is full check the website for the second group ID and password. In case you've forgotten, the 2008-09 season will run at the same time as the 2009-10 season until June. With the new season come a few changes. First, I'll be updating the members list by removing those who never confirmed their membership. While doing that, I plan on giving everyone the opportunity to change some of their membership information. If you've got a new or different email address you'd like me to send league information to, a new yahoo ID, a new team name you'd like to use, a new AIM screen name or a new hometown please fill out the sign up form again with your old information in the reference area. Please try to stick to your team name throughout the year as it makes my job of memorizing everyone's name, team name and conference a whole lot easier. The members list is the first in a line of website changes. The front page will have a second top 10 section to reflect the 2009-10 season after the 09-10 Fantasy NASCAR season starts. Once the golf season starts there will be extra links throughout the website for the new standings specific to that season. Standings from this season will have 0809 somewhere in the link, while standings for the new season will have 0910 somewhere in the link. Please inform me of any broken links throughout the website. I will also be opening a new Introduction and Re-Introduction Thread for the season once the new season begins. All replying will be given a bonus point. It will help me sort out bonus point earnings at the end of the season as well as help to keep everyone more familiar with each other. Those who do not respond may be removed from the league if I feel it is a sign of a greater inactivity. I will give a link on the website and in a future newsletter. I will also be giving out Bonus Points (up to 5) for those who contribute to the new ASFL2 FAQ page in an effort to help prospective and/or new members. You can submit questions via this thread. Input on previously submitted questions and answers is also appreciated as well as proof reading. As the last bit of preparation for the new season, I'd like to offer a chance for any rule proposals or suggestions. You can either post your idea in a new thread in this section of the message board or use the Feedback Form on the website to send it anonymously. As of now the two major changes I'm leaning toward are moving Fantasy Golf to the third tier of games with NCAA Tournament Pickem going to the fourth tier and dissolving the Mid-Atlantic Conference with its members going to the Northeast or Southeast Conferences. The only major proposal submitted thus far has been to add Fantasy Tennis, but I've had to shoot that down for 2009-10 due to time constraints. If anyone out there knows html or is possibly willing to help me with website updates during the Spring I'm looking for a little help. I'm currently signed up for 16 credit hours and this semester will likely determine whether or not I make it out of college with a degree. Don't forget to check the website and message board for standings updates during the season. Fantasy Game standings updates included. If you're reading this on the website because you didn't get the email, please make sure emails from commish@theasfl.com is set to not go to your junk/bulk mail. |
