Count me in. Gonna be pretty busy, with me and my wife's first-born on the way, but I'll try to stay up on things as best I can.

The season has yet to begin and we already have our first driver change. The rumours that Vitaly Petrov would replace Jarno Trulli at Caterham turned out to be true...

Trulli is a donkey... He did not want to go to NASCAR 2-3 years ago... and now, he got fired from F1.
Italy with no drivers... very good.

The Trulli Train became part of F1 folklore...
It's the first time there hasn't been an Italian F1 driver on the grid in my lifetime. Understandably, Domenicali is saddened by the lack of Italian drivers...

Is the word ass getting lost in translation? or are we really going Chievo Verona without the flying?

The second of three winter tests begins on Tuesday at Barcelona.
At the
first winter test in Jerez
, Nico Rosberg posted the fastest time, although Mercedes were using their 2011 car. Mercedes will officially launch their 2012 car in Barcelona. Meanwhile, they've released this
teaser video
.
Out of all of the 2012 challengers, Romain Grosjean recorded the fastest time in Jerez in the Lotus (which was the Renault last year). Alonso in the Ferrari had the second fastest time while the Red Bulls of Webber and Vettel were in close proximity. Obviously, nothing can be gauged by the times set. At the first winter test last year, Rubens Barrichello topped the timesheets but Williams went on to have their worst ever season.
There were some reliability issues, however. Red Bull lost some track time due to an electrical problem and the Ferrari sat in the garage for a while due to a hydraulics failure. Jules Bianchi had an inauspicious start as the Force India test driver when he crashed on his out lap. This cost the team an entire day of testing. The Lotus covered the most mileage, completing 402 laps.
Marussia (formerly Virgin Racing) will make their winter testing debut after deciding against going to Jerez, although they will be using their 2011 car. HRT (formerly Hispania) continues to be a joke as they're struggling to have a car ready for the season again. Their 2012 model has yet to pass all crash tests which it has to do so before it can take to the track.

Today Mercedes became the last major team to unveil their 2012 car, although they had already run their car at a shakedown/filming day at Silverstone last week. The only teams who have yet to launch their 2012 challengers are - surprise, surprise - Marussia and HRT.
Here are pictures from the teams' 2012 launches...
