Weekly Awards |
Team of the Week |
Cleveland Crusaders |
|
The Crusaders are shock champs thanks to their lineup's ability to overcome their bullpen deficiencies. |
Minor League ToW |
Gary Griffins |
Philadelphia's Single-A affiliate finishes with the best record in the minors at 101-37. They had an unconscious final month to overtake Daytona for the best record in the minors this season. Daytona had led since the second week of the season. Their record beats the record set by the 2009 Birmingham Bandits (MIA AAA) for the best minor league record in history. The Bandits finished 100-38. |
Player of the Week |
Marco Giovanni |
Cleveland's Rookie of the Year gets the honor over other award winners because he helped lead his team to the championship with 6 HR, 20 RBI and an OPS of .959 in the postseason. |
Minor League PoW |
Jose Escalona |
Jose Escalona finishes the 2010 season as the top prospect in the entire ABL. I'm sure he's much happier with the championship ring- which he earned with a game seven, game-winning, seventh inning three-run double. |
Member of the Week |
Michael Bryant |
Bryant led the Cavaliers to victory in the "Sub Series" just four seasons after the franchise won 28 games and three after winning 35 games. The roster certainly had its deficiencies, but it excelled in the postseason and has a trophy to show for it. |

News & Updates |
Check out the new All-Sports Fantasy League.
The 2010 season has concluded in thrilling fashion. Unfortunately, my fall schedule is beyond full and I likely won't be able to do anything for the league until December or January. I hope to get a few book-ends completed between now and then, but they'll likely surface as assignments on the message board. Reward Points will exist again for those that help. Potential assignments will revolve around things that would normally get added to the website.
Catobase will be updated once I figured out how to solve a problem caused by using 7-zip to back up and restore the league files. The 2011 offseason and season will hopefully be simmed sometime between January and June 2011. I have yet to decide if it will be handled in OOTP6 or OOTP11/12.
The OOTP Files have been updated through October 28th.

Thursday 9/26/2010: Cleveland's Jose Escalona slams three taters
CLEVELAND - Hitting homeruns is one of the most difficult things in sports. To hit three of them in one game is almost sensational. Cleveland's first baseman Jose Escalona accomplished that feat in a 4-2 win over Chicago. A 394 foot drive to right field marked his 1st bomb, a solo homerun off Ronaldo Garceau in the 4th inning. That one tied it at 2 runs apiece. In the 6th inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Ronaldo Garceau. Number 3 in the 8th inning, a shot estimated at 362 feet, cleared the wall in right field.
