 NASL Pickem is now available. Play for free. What? I'm sure the majority of you that frequent this website immediately thought, "What the hell is the NASL?". The North American Soccer League is the second division of soccer in North America and a reincarnation of the famous league from the 70s and early 80s of the same name. I'm a season ticket holder for one of the eleven teams and follow it closely. All of the leagues' games will be broadcast online via ESPN3 this season. Why? There is no pickem or fantasy game for the league anywhere on the internet. I frequent the subreddit for the league and put out a feeler for a potential game that received enough positive feedback to motivate me to re-purpose the code from Premier League Pickem to create NASL Pickem with an extra feature or two. I'm always looking to expand the reach of the website and hopefully the game attracts a new audience. How? - The Features Here are the game rules. Predict the score of each of the 165 games this season and earn points based on your picks versus the real scores. If you correctly predict the result, you earn three points. If you correctly predict a team's score, you earn one point. If you correctly pick both teams' scores you earn an extra point for six total. Your game pick can earn you 0, 1, 3, 4 or 6 points. The person with the most points from each of their picks is the winner. We keep track of weekly, monthly, seasonal (Spring/Fall) and full season results. We also ask that each participant select the team they support, so that we can keep track of the best performing supporters group in the NASL. We also provide the standings within each supporter group. Beyond the game standings, we offer league and game stats. There's a Game Averages & Percentages page that can help you make picks. We also break down the member standings by team picks, the team standings by points earned for each member and the NASL standings based on the picks by each member. We also have the full season results grid as well as the plain game score grid that doesn't take teams into account. We also have a breakdown of each team's average goals scored and against by location. You can also use the game to break down the league schedule by month or week and for team schedules. If the NASL subreddit isn't enough discussion you can discuss the game and league on our message board thread. If you have any feature ideas you'd like to see, please mention them in the game thread and/or email me. I'm currently looking for volunteers to help with score updates and a weekly preview and/or review writer. I'm open to reproducing content from another website or otherwise partnering with another website. I'm aware the ads within the game pages are subpar and plan to remove them once I have the time to go through each page. I'm also hoping to find a sponsor of the game, email me if interested. If a sponsor can be found, I may be able to offer up a prize to the winner(s). When? The season kicks off this Saturday, April 4th with the Ottawa Fury visiting the Carolina Railhawks at 1 PM ET. Each team plays ten games in The Spring season which ends on June 13th with the winner of the Spring season earning a postseason berth. The Fall season then begins again on July 4th and runs until November 1st before the four team postseason begins. The vast majority of games take place on Saturday with the Canadian teams often hosting Sunday afternoon games and some weekday games in the fall. Who are You? This is the All-Sports Fantasy League. While, not currently operating as an all-sports fantasy competition as originally designed, we still have a sizable stable of Fantasy Games to play for free. You don't have to register for the website to participate in an individual game. Simply click the "Sign Up" link on the body of game page and you're good to go for that game. Registering for the website allows you to carry your log-in between games and earn first dibs on limited entry games and in our Money Leagues.
