The concept of a fantasy league encompassing multiple sports with points being awarded based on performance was concocted in late September 2007 after the commissioner had given up running his previous venture, but still wished the league message board would remain active. Originally the idea was simply meant to keep the board alive, but after a few months of pushing off publicizing the idea, a few members from the old league were asked and after positive feedback, ASFL2 was born on November 14th, 2007. The first season started on January 3rd, 2008 and the league has been running since that day.
