In games where drafts are needed, ASFL2 will offer two draft versions- Live or Slow. Live drafts will be conducted via Yahoo!'s live draft system at a time which best serves the participants assigned to the fantasy league based on submitted preferences. Slow drafts will be conducted via ASFL2's slow draft application which allows for members which otherwise wouldn't be able to draft at the same time to conduct a draft together. | As mentioned, all live drafts will be conducted via Yahoo!'s live draft system. If you've never used it before I strongly encourage you to test it before committing to using it. When in the system, you'll have 90 seconds to make your pick when it comes up. Once you are placed in a live draft league you will no longer be eligible for a refund unless the draft time you were given didn't match your submitted preferences. If you are placed in a league and realize the draft time no longer works for you you can ask the league for a fantasy league change, but this can only be accomodated if a replacement is found for your time slot. You may need to link your ID to an ASFL2 Yahoo! ID so that the league can set up and view your fantasy league and be able to update the fantasy league's standings on the ASFL2 website. No ASFL2 representative will alter the team of an entrant at any point in time, even if asked to. If this is the case for a live draft fantasy league, you will be given an ID (in the form of asfldos#) and password to log into in order to draft for your league. You will be given as much warning as possible in this scenario. |
All leagues conducted via slow draft will have their drafts take place on the ASFL2 Money Leagues website. Draft order will be determined using Random.org's random number generator with all drafts using the snake format. When you are given a league designation via email you will be given a link to your draft in that email and a league number. Instead of following your draft link every time, you'll be able to get to your draft page from the Money Leagues page by using the "Drafts" navigation section at the bottom of the left hand column. Your draft will officially begin at least three days after the league designation emails have been sent out, but early draft picks can be made through the league commissioner to speed up the process. It is strongly recommended that you read the ASFL2 Slow Drafts Draft Guide before committing to the style of draft. It should also be noted that this system was created in the fall of 2009 and may not yet be perfect. There is a future feature list that will be added, but the league is also in the midst of putting Fantasy Games on the website among other long term needs and will weigh their feasibility accordingly. You will have a differing amount of hours to make your pick once it comes up in each round. If you've set a list and a time offset a player can be taken from your list as soon as your time offset has run out after the previous pick. The pick won't be made until someone clicks "Delayed Pick" on the draft page. The same will be true if your time runs out and you don't have a list, someone will need to click the "Default Pick" link on the draft page. There will also be hours excluded from the time limit during the week and over the weekend. Drafting Time Limits will be as follows for each round: |
The time guidelines may be changed if a draft starts late or is otherwise running slowly. There will be a 24-48 hour warning emailed out and put on the front page of the Money League's website. |
