• Aaron Burton won this week in league 1, but managed to fail to score 100 points or more for the twelfth consecutive week with 87 points this week.
• Burton defeated Bryan Crouch who scored 63 points in league 1 this week. He's also failed to score 100 or more points in any week this season.
• The top member in league 1, Edgar Lebron, scored just 75 points this week in a loss. He saw Alex Smith (21) & David Akers (14) score 46.7% of his total.
• Manuel Mateo saw three of his players combine for 75.4% of his total (61) for the week. Carson Palmer (11), Marques Colston (18) & Minnesota's D (17) tried to make up for three zeros from other players.
• In league 1, John Dipinto matched his total for Sunday (49) with two players on Monday. Drew Brees (44) & Stephen Gostkowski (5) led him to a massive comeback which resulted in a 13 point victory.
• Only one league 1 matchup was decided by less than 20 points. The average margin of victory was 27.7 points with values of 30, 20, 54, 20, 24, 33 & 13.
• Jay Soester won in league 2 despite having Matt Ryan as his QB and his three WRs combine for just 12 points. He was the only member in ASFL2 to win with Matt Ryan in his lineup.
• League 1 has seen Jeff Mazurek score 947 points (78.9 per game) for fourth place and a guaranteed spot in the playoffs while David Reckase has scored 1024 points (85.3 per game) and is 4-8, guaranteed to miss the playoffs. Reckase is third in the league in points while Mazurek is ninth.
• Forest Thomas scored 95 points this week after scoring 94 last week in league 2. He's lost both weeks.
• Dan Gettle scored 68 in a win this week in league 2. He's now scored 74 points or less in five straight weeks after scoring 100+ for three straight weeks and five of the first seven weeks.
• Bill Waxman defeated the top team in league 2 this week with Justin Forsett (20) as his leading point getter.
• Alex Smith scored 21 points this week for Derek Allison in league 3. That was 32.3% of the team total (65)
• Philip Rivers (24) & the Jets' defense (29) combined for 55.2% of Jason Cook's total (96) in a league 3 win. Throwing Marques Colston (18) into the mix accounts for a trio of players making up 74.0% of the team total.
• Charles Wishon scored 60 points this week in league 3 with only a tenth of those points being from his WRs. Only two players on his opponent's team (Bernard Scott & DeAngelo Williams) failed to put up that total or more. This was the second week in a row he's scored 60 points.
• Rick Macaluso's 74 point total this week is his second lowest of the season despite it leading to a victory. He's 8-4 and third in the league despite not having scored more than 96 points in any week this season with only two instances of scoring over 90 points.
• Deyanius Blackmon scored 103 points this week in league 3 after scoring 56 points last week.
• Matthew Reber won his first game in league 4 this week with 93 points. His opponent's 62 was in part due to Matt Ryan's injury. Reber saw seven of his players scored in double digits with Roy Williams (7) & Steve Smith (CAR)'s goose egg the lone exceptions.
• Tim Schneider won 85-77 in a vital league 4 contest over Andrew Senger. His victory came in spite of having just two players score in double digits with Brett Favre's 33 accounting for 38.8% of his total.
• Will Moore had 47 points heading into MNF before Drew Brees (44) & Randy Moss (6) more than doubled his total to lead him to a 97-83 victory in league 4.
• Dale Frederick put up 102 points in a league 4 win this week for his sixth 100+ point performance of the last seven weeks with the lone exception being a 98 point effort. He and league 4's second leading scorer are alone at the top of the league at 10-2.
• Shawn Temple has scored 63 points in back to back weeks, but still remains the third highest scorer of league 4.
• In league 5, Frank Borawski saw Green Bay's defense put up the most points on his team (27). It turned out to be more than the next two players combined, Santonio Holmes (13) & Visanthe Shiancoe (11). The three were the only point totals in double digits. Despite that fact, he managed to put up 86 points and only lose by six points.
• Matt Humpal scored 76 points this week after scoring 138 points last week in league 5.
• Tyson Hester scored 104 points this week in league 5 after putting up 67 points last week.
• Joel Masse could muster just 43 points this week after scoring 104 points last week in league 5.
• Robert Flatt's league 6 team featured Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Devin Hester, Heath Miller, Stephen Gostkowski & New England's defense this week. Chester Taylor scored the most points on the team with 13. Bernard Scott was third with five. That explains the awful point total (38).
• Brad Wilson had been 3-8 before Philip Rivers (24) & Green Bay's D (27) combined for 56.7% of his total (90) for his fourth win of the season over previously 10-1 Ryan Drzik in league 6.
• League 6 features two instances of members with the same record having the same point total. The event's been a rarity so far this season.
• Scott Ludeviks defeated Bill McConnell 84-54 this week in league 10. The result meant both had scored 991 points for the season. McConnell is now 6-5-1 while Ludeviks is 6-6 heading into the final week.
• Aaron Burton scored 110 points this week in a 22 point league 7 victory to move to 6-6. It was his first time over 100 points in a week this season.
• The four lowest scoring league 8 winners for the week managed to account for four of the five point total between 86 and 90 this week.
• There are 52 ASFL2 teams over .500 with one week left.
• Peter Moir scored the most points amongst all ASFL2 teams from league 9 despite having Reggie Bush on his roster but inactive on the Saints roster.
• League 2 is the only ASFL2 league to have assured itself of no teams with a double digit win or loss total. League 7 doesn't currently have a team with ten wins or losses, but the only member with nine wins (Nathan Oake) faces off against the only team with nine losses (Heath Carrell) in the final week. Without a Carrell win, they won't join league 2 in the category.
• Jason Oroszi scored over 70 points for the second straight week and the second time overall in league 7 with 71, but it wasn't enough to overcome Mike Mitchell's 84 points with six members in double figures even with Steve Smith (Carolina's) getting a zero for the team. Oroszi's final chance to win his first game of the season will come against thirteenth place Anthony Lombardo. Had they played this week, Oroszi would have won 71-70.
• Brad Wilson scored 62 points in league 7 after scoring 118 points last week. He's still 8-4 and second in the league.
• Floyd Sullivan has scored 109+ points in consecutive weeks after scoring 49 or less points the prior two weeks. His win this week moevd him to 5-7 and kept him alive going into the final week.
• League 8 saw three games decided by 28 or more points (45, 28 & 41) and three games decided by 12 points or less (12, 6 & 9).
• Prior to MNF, Robert Casares had scored 45 points against league 9's 1-9-1 team. Fortunately for him and his playoff prospects Brees nearly doubled the effort by himself (44 points) with Wes Welker adding three points.
• The only two teams in league 8 to score 100 points matched up against each other with 4-7 Floyd Sullivan's 117 points defeating Doyle Ashe's Drew Brees' led 105 points. Only two other teams topped 90 points for the week in the league. Another instance of unfortunate schedule circumstance. Ashe's roster has six Saints players on it. Only three were used, including inactive Reggie Bush. Had Devery Henderson been used instead of Chad Ochocinco, Ashe would have won by two points.
• League 9 saw the same event as Peter Moir's ASFL2 high 137 points trumped, league leader Steve Campbell's 106 points. Moir had four players (Favre- 33, Austin-20, Gates-23, San Diego-21) score 20 or more points to help overcome having Reggie Bush in the lineup. Campbell was undefeated three weeks ago, but now finds himself in second place with a chance at falling down to fourth over the final week.
• Ray Rossetti scored just 51 points this week in league 9 after scoring 103 points last week. He's now 6-4-2 and has yet to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
• Ronny Funderburk scored 82 in a loss this week in league 10. He's now failed to score 100 points every week since putting up 122 points in week one. He's also on a five game losing streak that has eliminated him from a chance at the playoffs.
• Josh Evens scored 79 or more points for just the third time this season while picking up his third win in league 10.
• Five leagues have sixth place teams that are 6-6 while the other five have sixth place teams that are 7-5 or the equivilent (6-4-2 in league 9). The four 14-team leagues all have sixth place teams that are 7-5.
• Only league 3 (7-5) and league 10 (5-6-1) have seventh place teams that aren't 6-6 for the season.
• Playoff Scenarios will be available via the Fantasy Football standings index page in the next 48 hours as I update the other NFL-themed games and finish the overall Fantasy Hockey standings pages.

Heading into SNF, Marinelli led 64-60 with Soester having Ray Rice & Wes Welker left against Tom Brady & Stephen Gostkowski for Marinelli. Unless Rice managed to get into the endzone on multiple ocassions the odds were in Marinelli's favor. When Rice finished with 11 points, Soester held onto a 71-64 lead with Welker as his paddle through the rough current of Brady & Gostkowski for MNF. With Laurence Maroney getting plenty of carries early the matchup was still close through halftime. The game ultimately came down to Tom Brady's last two passes. With 14:01 left in the game, Brady threw to Welker for four yards to give Soester 74 points to Marinelli's 75. On his last pass he was intercepted by Darren Sharper to give Soester a 74-72 advantage. When Brady was pulled from the game after that it would come down to whether or not Gostkowski would change the final score and the Patriots second offense didn't allow that to happen. Had Gostkowski made his 50-yard attempt at the end of the first half, Marinelli would have won by three points.

By record alone this was one of the most lopsided matchups amongst all ASFL2 leagues as Synychak was 2-9 before this week with Goatcher 10-1. Heading into SNF the expectations were well out the window as Goatcher led by a score of just 85-79 with Hines Ward up against Ray Rice for Synychak. Heading into the game it seemed to be a toss up with a TD leading to a favorite. Through the first half both players had put up similar scores, but it appeared as though Rice would be more likely to see action in his offense than Ward. When Ward caught a 22 yard pass with 5:17 left in the third quarter it would give him four for the game and prove to be his final touch. At that point Rice had only scored 3 fantasy points. In the final quarter and a half of regulation he would account for seven more points to tie the matchup up at 89. When Pittsburgh won the toss the moment swung back to Goatcher as he was likely to have the chance to win or clinch a tie, but after a single set of extra downs the Steelers punt put the shoe on the other foot. After a three-and-out the Dixon INT set up Rice for the perfect scenario to win it with six yards needed for the win and his team likely to rely on him entirely. After a two yard run started things off his six yard run on second down gave Synychak the lead. The Steelers & Goatcher needed a Rice fumble or a missed FG to have a chance. Billy Cundiff ended the game four plays later.

Both participates gambled big and lost on injuries. Had White substituted out Warner, he would have gotten five points from Matt Hasselbeck. If Adams had substituted Bush, he would have received ten points from Felix Jones, but his gambled ultimately did him in. White led 74-73 heading into SNF with Jeff Reed going for Adams and the Ravens' D going for White. With Dennis Dixon in, White was the clear favorite, but a lack of action from the Ravens defense opened the door for Reed to kick through. Unfortunately for Adams, the Steelers offense couldn't get in range for Reed, an OT field goal would have won the game for him or simply another FG in regulation would have swung things in the right direction even if the Ravens had added another sack. When overtime did get underway, Adams led 79-77. I would imagine he would have liked to sacrifice the coin toss for an automatic win...or overtime for that matter, but once the Steelers had to punt and the Ravens did the same the worst case scenario was realized. Dixon's OT INT gave the Ravens defense the three points White needed to win the matchup when Reggie Bush was ruled inactive for Monday night's game.

Honorable Mention |
•John Dipinto 98, Matthew Hardman 85 (LG1)- Heading into MNF, Hardman led 81-49. Hardman had Wes Welker & Sammy Morris remaining against Drew Brees & Stephen Gostkowski. Certainly an interesting scenario...until it the Saints dominated the game and Brees accounted for 44 points helping Dipinto win by 13 points.
•Rick Macaluso 74, Barry Barnett 71 (LG3)- Barnett needed 10 points from Mike Bell & Wes Welker for his second win of the season, but could only get three points from each. Aaron Rodgers' 29 for Macaluso proved to be vital.
•Will Moore 97, Doug Gehr 83 (LG4)- Moore trailed 83-47 heading into MNF before Drew Brees & Randy Moss combined for 50 points with Brees doing the heavy lifting.
•Aaron Freeman 93, Anthony Lombardo 90 (LG5)- Lombardo led 90-80 heading into SNF before Derrick Mason put up 12 points to win Freeman the contest, unless Benjamin Watson managed to fumble with less than 10 receiving yards. He didn't.
•Tyson Hester 104, Steve Irvine 87 (LG5)- Anthony instance of Drew Brees' massive day saving someone. Irvine led 74-60 heading into MNF with New Orleans' D against Brees for Hester. The 13 points for the Saints defense wasn't anywhere near enough to out do Brees' night.
•Will Kozack 89, Jason Hurst 80 (LG8)- Lots of action in the night games, but a moderately sized margin of victory. Heading into SNF, Kozack led 67-42 with two players left while Hurst had five players left. After Heath Miller and the Steelers' D made the score 67-54, MNF could have been interesting...if the Patriots passing game had been up to par. Hurst had Tom Brady, Marques Colston & Stephen Gostkowski up against Laurence Maroney & Randy Moss. Brady being outscored by Moss pretty much sums up the result well. Colston virtually matched up with Maroney, but Gostkowski couldn't make up the thirteen point difference.
•Robert Casares 92, Christopher Allen 82 (LG9)- Add this game to the list of massive Bress comebacks. Casares had put up 45 points and trailed 79-45 heading into MNF with Brees & Wes Welker up against Mike Bell.
•Dan McNair 56, Ray Rossetti 51 (LG9)- The score was 38-30 in favor of McNair with Marques Colston left against Pierre Thomas, John Carney & the Patriots defense to try to clean up the ugly score. The game was likely to come down to who Drew Brees threw the TDs to and how many he threw. Turned out Colston caught the TD and enough yards to overcome Thomas' ground game and Carney's kicking with the Patritos defense barely a factor.
