Tidbits

• There was a scoring glitch in Yahoo! that won't be fixed until their numbers are processed. Robert Meachem's fumble return for TD after a Washington INT was being recorded as six points for New Orleans' D outside of StatTracker. As a result, some numbers here may be wrong by six points. I've tried to correct the error as much as I can notice it. Upon further review, Meachem's fumble recovery was being counted as well. The standings were updated without that correction, but will be fixed Tuesday afternoon or evening.
Points Scored Against for all league 1 teams: David Reckase 1196, Andrew Maher 1163, Aaron Burton 1140, Bryan Crouch 1120, Manuel Mateo 1104, Trevor Lynn 1103, Dan Thomas 1101, John Duffill 1097, John Dipinto 1040, Matthew Hardman 1020, Jay Soester 1006, Phil Conrad 990, Edgar Lebron 980, Jeff Mazurek 864.
• Andrew Maher won his final three games in league 1 after starting 0-10.
• Aaron Burton scored 76 this week in a league 1 loss to finish the season off without scoring in triple digits in any week. He was joined in league 1 at that feat by Bryan Crouch who finished with 86 in a season-ending win.
• Phil Conrad scored 102 points this week in league 1, his fourth instance of 100+ points in the last five weeks and fifth of seven. He had more weeks scoring 100+ points (7) than not (6).
• Matthew Hardman led league 1 this week with 120 points. He finished the season with only one instance of scoring less than 100 points, but not more than 76 points.
• Trevor Lynn had five players score 15 or more points in totalling 112 points this week in league 1.
• John Dipinto won in league 1 despite only having two players score in double digits (Drew Brees- 25 & Philadelphia's D- 21).
• Two members in league 1 had a shot to sneak into the playoffs with help. Both needed a win as they sat a game back of 5th and 6th as well as point swings, but they combined for 92 points.
• Jay Soester saw seven of his nine players score in double digits in league 2. He put up the second most points in the league (one back of the top score) in what turned into an elimination game against Forest Thomas as he came in 5th to Thomas' 6th. Thomas misses the playoffs despite scoring 91 points or more in the season's final five weeks.
• The member who snuck into the playoffs in league 2, Eric Franckowiak, finished his season with a narrow win over the top team in the league. His 82 points in the contest meant he finished the season without scoring in triple digits a single time.
• Philadelphia's defense accounted for a third (21) of Dan Gettle's point total this week (63) in a league 2 loss.
• Nate Morse scored 118 points this week in league 2 after scoring 115 points combined in the previous two weeks.
Points Scored Against for all league 2 teams: Nate Morse 1197, Forest Thomas 1180, Alex Pacelli 1173, Eric Franckowiak 1124, John Marinelli 1113, Jay Soester 1102, Ben True 1082, Ken Webb 1080, Bill Waxman 1079, Christian Giovannetti 1073, Dan Gettle 1027, Chad Luik 994.
• Five members tied for fifth in league at 7-6 with Colt Ciccone (1207 points) & John Wright (1108) getting the playoff spots. Ciccone lost in the season's final week, as did Anders Nilsson and Greg Krause while Charles Wishon & John Wright won their way into the tie.
• Charles Wishon defeated Greg Krause this week in league 3 by a score of 55-33. The 88 point combined total is believed to be the lowest in ASFL2 history. Only two players in the matchup (Peyton Manning- 16 & Nate Kaeding- 13) scored in double digits, both for Wishon.
• Only one matchup in league 3 was decided by less than 19 points. The average margin of victory was 30.5 (19, 45, 19, 51, 27, 22).
• Barry Barnett put up his second highest point total of the season (97), but lost to the top score in league 3 (116) for his 12th loss of the season.
• Rick Macaluso scored 106 points in a 51-point league 3 win for his first instance of triple digits of the season. John Wright's 104 point performance in league 3 was also his first time in triple-digits in the regular season's final week.
• Greg Krause combined to score just 91 points in the season's final two weeks to fall out of the playoffs.
Points Scored Against for all league 3 teams: Barry Barnett (1236), Tim Schneider (1209), Derek Allison (1120), Charles Wishon (1105), Bill Horton (1103), Jason Cook (1057), Deyanius Blackmon (1049), Anders Nilsson (1049), John Wright (1037), Colt Ciccone (1031), Mike Miles (1028), Rick Macaluso (1005), Jeff Brick (930), Greg Krause (925).
• Shawn Temple & Tim Schneider narrowly won their final games of the season in league 4 to knock Kevin Cheek out of the playoffs (Jeff Johnson's win was necessary as well, but he won comfortably). Cheek ultimately misses out as a result of tying the last place team in the league.
• Andrew Senger finished the season with a 66 point effort in league 4. He was also on the list to not have scored 100 points or more in any week.
• After starting the season with five efforts of 93 or less, Dale Frederick scored 98 or more points in league 4 for the final eight weeks of the season. He scored under 100 only once in the stretch.
Points Scored Against for all league 4 teams: Matthew Reber 1251, Shawn Temple 1213, Dale Frederick 1180, Matt Burton 1169, Dave Brooke 1149, Will Moore 1147, Doug Gehr 1112, Jeff Johnson 1099, Kevin Cheek 1063, Tim Schneider 1000, Andrew Senger 969.
• Matt Humpal scored 100+ points for just the third time this season in league 5, but lost to Doug Eden's 120 points.
• Frank Borawski needed to score 102 more points than his league 5 high 120 points to qualify for the playoffs over John Clarke. Had Clarke's sixth lowest score not been paired with the league's third lowest score it would have helped as well.
• Russ Goatcher scored just 58 points this week in 21 point loss to end his season at 10-3 after being the last ASFL2 member to lose their first game. There was a rash of top teams losing, and often losing ugly, this week. Only Edgar Lebron & Bob Atwood survived amongst those who came into the week with 10 or more wins. The low score dropped Goatcher's season average from 101.16 per week to 96.92 points per week.
Points Scored Against for all league 5 teams: David Synychak 1248, Anthony Lombardo 1189, Steve Irvine 1185, Doug Eden 1146, Matt Humpal 1132, Aaron Freeman 1131, Joel Masse 1103, John Clarke 1085, Frank Borawski 1048, Rick Macaluso 1054, Russ Goatcher 1031, Tyson Hester 1023.
• Aaron Freeman scored 102 points in the season's final week to continue his streak of scoring 90+ points which is now at seven straight weeks.
• Joel Masse scored just 107 points combined between the final two weeks of the season after scoring 104 points in the third to last week. He finished at 5-8 in league 5.
• Jason Oroszi scored his second highest point total of the season with a respectable 86 points, but lost by 10 to 13th place Anthony Lombardo in league 6. He gets the unfortunate, dubious distinction of an 0-13 season. His team averaged 59.6 points per week.
• Eoin Adams knocked Ryan Drzik off the top of league 6 in the Good Fortune Bowl. Adams scored the 11th most points on the season in league 6, but managed to finish fifth while Drzik had the eighth most, but lead the league prior to a 56 point week. Adams scored 90 points or more for just the second time on the season in the final week.
• Only two ASFL2 members between all ten leagues averaged over 100 points per week. Dale Frederick averaged 103.69 points each week (1348 total) while Nick Hall averaged 101.15 points per week in league 9 (1315 total).
• Mark Boggs defeated Mike Mitchell 89-83 this week in league 6. Pretty normal event until you look at their scores last week and see Boggs with 90 and Mitchell with 84.
• Anthony Lombardo came up four points short of scoring 100 for the first time in the last week of the season in league 6.
Points Scored Against for all league 6 teams: Jason Oroszi 1223, Mike Mitchell 1169, Brad Wilson 1155, Anthony Lombardo 1132, LeRoy Cushaway Jr. 1119, John Galvano 1092, Tom Buske 1091, Mark Boggs 1087, Robert Flatt 1053, Vern Lemke 1037, Nick White 1035, Ed Peck 1026, Ryan Drzik 936, Eoin Adams 928.
• Brad Wilson scored 84 points in league 7 and 83 points in league 6 this week.
• Nathan Oake's defeat of Heath Carrell in league 7 ensured that league 2 would be the only ASFL2 league without a team with ten wins or ten losses.
• Six teams in league 7 finished the season with less than 1000 points scored.
• Three teams finished 11-2 and tied for the best record. Two of them were in league 10. Ten ASFL2 teams had double digit wins. Twenty-five were five games over .500 or better.
Points Scored Against for all league 7 teams: Heath Carrell 1271, Bill Richmond 1109, Jamey Dillard 1095, Joseph Takkunen 1083, Jason Kaplan 1070, Aaron Burton 1059, Eric Grossnickle 1057, Mike Miles 1048, Nathan Oake 1046, Matthew Hardman 1030, Susan Gantz 998, Brad Wilson 961, Matt Spencer 959, Pierre Bergeron 949.
• None of the 12 teams in league 8 scored over 1200 points for the season. The top scoring team was 26 points short of 1200 and would up with a .500 record and seventh in the league.
• With another tie in the final week in league 8, this season shattered last season's tie record with 11 between all leagues.
• Mike Dipinto saw his receiving core combine for 55 of his 107 points in league 4. That's 51.4% of his total.
Points Scored Against for all league 8 teams: Floyd Sullivan 1266, Anders Nilsson 1247, Bob La Polla 1135, Doyle Ashe 1115, Eddie Fritch 1106, Kraig Monkman 1085, Will Kozack 1085, Don Greenslate 1048, Jason Hurst 1044, Kevin Whorton 1018, Nathan Susanto 1001, Jaime Henck 977.
• Dan McNair scored 100 points this week in league 9 after scoring 56 last week.
• Steve Campbell scored his lowest point total of the season in the final week of league 9 games at 78 points, but won his matchup.
• Nick Hall scored 106 points for his fourth time over 100 points in the last five weeks of the season. He was the regular season winner of league 9.
• Kevin Whorton scored 53 points in the final week of the season in league 9. He scored 53 or 54 points in three of the final four weeks of the season.
Points Scored Against for all league 9 teams: Christopher Allen 1220, Chris Carter 1145, Peter Moir 1121, Chris Harris 1118, Cecilia Elliot 1109, Nick Hall 1101, Steve Campbell 1082, Robert Casares 1070, Dan McNair 1068, Kevin Whorton 1053, Nicholas Alicea 1048, Ray Rossetti 980.
• Scott Ludeviks managed to score every even value between 74 and 84 in the final seven weeks of the season in league 10 with one week off.
• Scott Cook scored 90+ points in four of the final five weeks of the season in league 10.
• In league 10, Bob Atwood scored 100+ points in each of the final three weeks of the season.
• Drew Brees (25) & Wes Welker (16) combined for 55.4% of Robert Casares' total in league 9.
• Nick Alicea saw Tony Romo (33), Santonio Holmes (20) & David Akers (10) combine to score more points than his opponent's (Chris Harris) 62 for the week. Akers could have been switched with Baltimore's defense (10) as well or with Chris Johnson (9) for a tie.
Points Scored Against for all league 10 teams: Bill Isley 1207, Stephen Schulte 1204, David Synychak 1182, Scott Cook 1180, Ronny Funderburk 1133, Ryan Drzik 1119, Bill McConnell 1103, Ryan Rodebush 1099, Josh Evens 1076, Ken Patton 1040, Scott Ludeviks 1024, Bob Atwood 978.
• All 12 teams in league 2 finished within five games of each other.
• League regular season champion records: LG1: 11-2, LG2: 9-4, LG3: 10-3, LG4: 10-3, LG5: 10-3, LG6: 10-3, LG7: 10-3, LG8: 9-4, LG9: 9-3-1, LG10: 11-2.

There will be two scoring changes tomorrow when I fix the problems caused by the New Orleans glitch. The league factor formula will change to avoid the bias against 14-team leagues by having the league scoring averages factored in and the overall standings by record bonus championship points will be increased to those who finished within two games of the best record.
• Aside from those two changes, your championship points are locked in for everything but your final playoff rank. League champions earn 12 championship points, runner-ups earn nine, third place earns seven, fourth earns five, fifth earns three and sixth place earns a point for qualifying.
• Each league's playoff bracket will be updated Tuesday afternoon/evening.

This is the early front-runner for most important game of the week. Heading into the final week of the season, Franckowiak sat 7th in the standings with 5th and 6th playing each other and all three even at 6-6. Heading into the night games, Giovannetti led 72-58 with Greg Jennings left against Tim Hightower, Minnesota's D, Ryan Grant & Jermichael Finley. When Minnesota's D & Tim Hightower combined for just three points it appeared as though Franckowiak's season was likely over unless the Packers kept the ball on the ground. With the score at 72-61, Franckowiak had to hope Jermichael Finley and Ryan Grant would team up for at least two TDs while Greg Jennings was kept out of the endzone. I'd hope he wasn't expecting them both to come from Finley. The game got interesting when Finley put up his second TD of the season with 4:35 to go in the first half. Giovannetti held onto the lead until Jermichael Finley turned a 3 points deficit into a four point lead with his fourth quarter TD. With the Packers lead increased to 10, that pretty much cemented the game for Franckowiak. The loss also moved Giovannetti from the top seed in league 2 down to the second seed in league 2.

This game was greatly effected by the Yahoo! scoring glitch mentioned as the first tidbit on the page. Heading into MNF, Temple led 102-87, but Moore had Derrick Mason, Ryan Grant & Mason Crosby remaining. Due to the glitch Moore's score was shown as being six points higher than it actually was. Crosby himself made up the visible nine point deficit, but Grant's two points and Mason's single point didn't cover the remaining eight points. Temple's win sneaks him into the playoffs as the top scoring 7-6 team and the four seed. Had Crosby not missed a 38-yard FG try in the game, there would have been a chance for a tie late. If it had finished as a tie, Temple would have tied for the sixth spot, but won the tiebreaker.

Plenty of night action in this one. Frederick led 54-30 heading into SNF. Dipinto had Fitzgerald, Harvin, Boldin, Longwell and the Packers D left while Frederick had Rodgers, Rice, McGahee & Neil Rackers remaining. Frederick had a decent showing on SNF with Rice & Rackers putting up 19 points between them for 73 total with Rodgers & McGahee left, but Dipinto saw his receiving core erupt for 55 combined points to go with 5 from Longwell for a 90-73 lead with just the Packers' D to go up against Frederick's duo. The start of the game heavily favored the Packers' defense pulling out the win, but Rodgers' TD pass to Jermichael Finley opened things up a bit early in the second quarter. Dipinto was still comfortable until McGahee's TD in the third quarter brought his team and Frederick's team within striking distance as it meant Rodgers was available to throw again. Rodgers' final TD pass brought Frederick within a single point, but AJ Hawk's INT with 6:48 to go made it a four point game and the two only traded points after that.

Both were projected to score 96 points, but came up well short of that mark. Heading into MNF, White led 63-49 with Baltimore's D remaining against Aaron Rodgers and Ryan Grant. If the Packers stayed out of the endzone enough, White was sure to pull it off, but after slowly cutting away at the lead Aaron Rodgers' final TD pass with 10:31 left in the game took enough points away from the Ravens defense and added enough to Rodgers to sway the outcome and it didn't change from there. The game was made more noteworthy as both participants entered at 9-3 and a game back of first place in league 6. Lemke's win coupled with a Ryan Drzik loss gave him the regular season crown. The point difference between the two in the game was also what seperated their point totals for the season.

Heading into the game, Susanto was projected for 110 points while Monkman was projected for 74. If that wasn't enough of a sign of interesting things to come...it's not every day you see two kickers on the same team square off against one another. Had that not been the case this wouldn't of ended in a tie. After a seven point Sidney Rice effort on SNF, Susanto led 87-84 with Ray Rice up against the Ravens' D. The game was slow to develop, but exciting in the end. Rice's day was going horribly as the Ravens' defense's points weren't coming off the scoreboard fast enough. With Aaron Rodgers final TD pass getting Susanto within striking distance. He finally got the point he needed to tie when Ray Rice ran for 21 yards on the Ravens second play of their final drive. Had he caught a pass for three yards on the drive or run for six more yards at any point in the game Susanto would have won the game. Rice also had a carry for negative seven yards in the game.

After ten points on SNF, Synychak needed Aaron Rodgers to put up 13 more points than the Ravens defense on MNF for the win. After a slow start, Rodgers' final TD throw to Jermichael Finley with 10:31 left in the game gave him a one point lead and Rodgers tacked on another point while not letting the opposing defense score again for the Synychak win. The narrow loss eliminated Ludeviks from the postseason. It also meant a league 10 team would qualify with a losing record.

Honorable Mention

Tim Schneider 81, Matthew Reber 74 (LG4)- Schneider neded 14 from Brett Favre and Bernard Berrian on SNF to make the playoffs and got it with Favre's final pass of the game, an eight point TD toss to Percy Harvin with 1:20 left. If the margin of victory wasn't seven points it certainly would have been a nominee, probably the best game of the week anyway.

Aaron Freeman 102, Steve Irvine 94 (LG5)- The glitch with New Orleans' D took away the deficit that would have made this a tie. Freeman was down 20 points entering SNF, but Larry Fitzgerald made that up by himself with Sidney Rice and Derrick Mason providing the eight point margin of victory.

Aaron Burton 86, Joseph Takkunen 82 (LG7)- Takkunen needed 11 points from Donald Driver for the win, but got only seven.

Susan Gantz 89, Brad Wilson 84 (LG7)- Gantz trailed 81-65 heading into MNF with Wilson having Derrick Mason & Ray Rice left. He needed Kurt Warner & Anquan Boldin to combine for 50 points on SNF to make a game of it. When the Packers finally started throwing the ball effectively, Gantz became the heavy favorite and ultimately had Rodgers lead her to victory by a comfortable five points. Lost in the final box score was 47 yards of Derrick Mason receiving yards that were wiped out in the fourth quarter by an offensive pass intereference that would have tied the game up in the end. The same incident cost the same person in the ASFL2 Keeper Leagues were he's unfortunately been relegated as a result.

Christopher Allen 84, Chris Carter 82 (LG9)- The undoubted game of the week in retrospect. The New Orleans scoring glitch meant this fell by the wayside until it was too late to entirely write up. Carter led 82-58 head into MNF with Allen having Green Bay's defense and Mason Crosby left to go. The winning points came with Mason Crosby's 32 yard FG with 1:56 left. Had the Packers gained one more first down, Carter would have made the playoffs. That scenario was set up by two GB INTs on the previous two Joe Flacco throws. Due to the loss, Carter finished eighth, a game behind sixth place whom he would have had the point tiebreaker over. If Robert Meachem was credited with a fumble recovery, Carter would have tied and finished a half game back. I should mention Allen finishes the season at 2-10-1.
