Tidbits |
• Jeff Mazurek managed just 36 points in league 1's fifth place game largely because he had two players (Jay Cutler (-5) & Pittsburgh's D (-1)) score in the negatives. Dallas Clark (21) 58.3% of his total.
• Phil Conrad only had two of his players score in double figures in his league 1 semifinal against Dan Thomas while Thomas had six of his players score in double figures. Conrad won 88-84 thanks to getting 33 points from Peyton Manning and 22 from Vincent Jackson while Thomas' high score was just 13 points from three different players.
• Jay Soester is the first person to be burned by Jerome Harrison for the week in league 2 as he dropped Harrison's 38 points on Saturday in favor of Chris Jennings, a 37 point swing which would have overcome a 20 point loss in the semifinal.
• Rick Macaluso saw his QB, Aaron Rodgers, score 42 points. That was 77.8% of his opponents total (54). He won the league 3 semifinal by 85. Seven of his players scored in double figures.

• In league 5, the semifinal matchup between Russ Goatcher & Rick Macaluso saw five players score 20 or more points with another two scoring 19 points. Macaluso had three of the 20 point scorers, but with two of his players putting up zeros and another only managing a single point, it turned into a 24 point loss.
• Aaron Freeman lost his league 5 semifinal with Jerome Harrison on his bench. Fortunately for Freeman (to some degree, at least), the potential resulting 29 point swing would have still given him a 26 point loss.
• In league 6's second semifinal, Tom Buske saw Peyton Manning (33) account for more than half (51.6%) of his opponent's point total (64) for the week. His team's 112 points nearly accomplished the feat by itself.

Yep, you're reading right. The game ended in a tie. How's the tie broken? Most TDs scored by the entire roster. Heading into SNF, Moore led 66-52 with Scneider having Favre & Tynes left to go. The odds would favor Favre to get 14 points against Carolina, but with the Vikings laying an egg and Favre only putting up five points, everything was left to Tynes. Everything could have started out in Schneider's favor as the Giants opening 16-play drive nearly stalled at the three, but the Giants converted on third down costing Schneider two points. They followed it up with another long drive that was punched in for full points instead of kicked for half. Tynes finally had the chance at a FG on the third drive, but it was two yards short of being worth more than three points. Nothing would develop again until the Giants scored from 23 yards out on third and four to again rob Schneider of three extra points. Ultimately that was Schneider last chance as Tynes wouldn't see a shot at the FG he needed again, but he had a chance if the Giants scored enough touchdowns. The Giants had the chance to go for more points with two minutes to go, but after a first down they decided to kneel both games out. With six PATs and a 38-yard FG, Tynes finished with exactly 9 points for the tie, but Schneider's roster didn't score a single TD for the week while Moore had managed a single TD to advance to the league 4 championship game.

Casares led 85-60 heading into SNF with Lawrence Tynes going up against Eli Manning, Sidney Rice & Ryan Longwell for Hall. When Rice and Longwell combined for five points on SNF, Hall was given a tall task of overcoming an 85-65 deficit, but at least he was given a QB against a kicker. The game started out both good and bad as the Giants opened with two tremendously dominating drives, but they let running backs cross the goal line without a toss from Eli Manning. When the third drive ended in a Tynes field goal and the Giants likely to run the ball the rest of the way it didn't look particularly good. When Manning bounced back with a TD pass on the next drive there was a hint of a comeback. The next two Giants drives resulted in Manning TD passes as well to make it a full on contest, but unfortunately for Hall, the extra points following the TD pass gave Casares a one point lead. When the Giants' offense took the field again with 8:52 left in the game Tom Coughlin had finally decided to yank Eli Manning from the game. When the game ended without a Tynes fumble, Hall had lost the matchup in heart breaking fashion.
