Tidbits |
• Both Matthew Hardman & Edgar Lebron had three weeks of 100+ and four weeks under 75 this season in league 1, but Hardman's 125-60 defeat of Lebron this week moved him to 3-4 while Lebron fell to 6-1.
• Matthew Hardman scored 125 points in league 1 despite having Cleveland as his defense for the week. Clinton Portis was the only other player in his lineup to not score in double digits.
• Five members scored between 83 and 87 points with no duplicate values in league 2.
• Dan Gettle has scored 100+ points five of seven weeks in league 2. He's 3-4 on the season.
• Barry Barnett eclipsed the century mark for the first time this season in his first win of the season with a 111-90 victory over Bill Horton in league 3 this week. He had eclipsed 85 points just one other time this season. It was only Horton's third time surpassing 73 points.
• John Wright scored 98 points for the second week in a row for a 30 point victory in league 3. The two weeks in question are the only weeks this season he's scored over 84 points.
• Rick Macaluso has scored between 76 and 85 points in five of seven weeks this season. He has one trip above and below the range this season and is 4-3 to show for it.
• Mike Miles scored 108 points this week in league 3 for his fifth century of the season. He's 6-1 despite scoring just 139 points the other two weeks.
• Mike Dipinto scored just 66 points this week in league 4 for an 11 point win and his fifth trip below 90 points on the season. He's now 5-2.
• Shawn Temple scored 101 points for the second week in a row and his fourth week in a row over 100 points. He's 4-3 on the season.
• Matthew Reber scored 105 points in league 4 this week, but lost by two for his sixth loss of the season. He's now 0-6-1 with this being just the second time he's surpassed the 78 point mark.
• Dale Frederick had four players (Aaron Rodgers, Vincent Jackson, Vernon Davis & New England's D) score 20+ points this week in a 136 point effort in league 4. This despite having Hines Ward put up a 0 for him.
• Russ Goatcher scored 100+ for the third straight week to move to 7-0 in league 5. His low for the season is the 89 point output he had in week 1 with his second lowest score being 95.
• Steve Irvine earned his second win of the season in league 5 this week thanks to a 116 point effort. He had scored just 394 points through the first 6 weeks of the season. He put up almost 30% (29.4%) of his season's output this week.
• Tom Buske scored 104 points in a win this week in league 6 for his third century in a row. He's now 5-2 on the season with four 100+ point weeks and only one trip below 80 points.
• Vern Lemke defeated Eoin Adams 113-44 this week in league 6 moving both to 5-2 on the season. Lemke has three 100+ weeks with only one small trip (83) below 85 points this season. Adams has scored 100 points exactly just once with only two other instances in the 80s. Sometimes the schedule smiles on you.
• Brad Wilson scored 61 points in a loss in league 7 this week after scoring 112 points last week which is further confused by his 60 point total two weeks ago. Quite the rollercoaster.
• The point differentials in league 7 this week went as follows: 18, 64, 46, 53, 19, 33 & 22. That's an average margin of 36.4 points. League 7 embodied the trend this week with very few match ups finishing within 15 points across ASFL2 leagues.
• Jamey Dillard scored 127 points this week in league 7, more than doubling his 59 point output last week.
• Floyd Sullivan put up 70 points this week in league 8, just over half of his total from last week, 135.
• League 9 saw the best matchup of the week as Steve Campbell (5-0-1) defeated Robert Casares (5-1) 130-118 to stay undefeated.
• Dan McNair and Nicholas Alicea scored 111 and 110 points respectively against each other this week after putting up 69 and 60 separately last week in league 9.
• Cecilia Elliot had Peyton Manning (27) & the Jets defense (23) score almost two-thirds (64.9%) of her teams total for the week (77) in league 9.

• Pierre Bergeron saw San Diego's defense (27) & Drew Brees (18) combine for 80% of his team's total in league 7 thanks to four zeros a one and a two to go with Randy Moss' six.
• Ben Roethlisberger's 13 was the only double digit total on Jeff Brick's team in league 3 this week.
• Dave Brooke came into the week 4-2, but saw six of his players score three points or less, including Chicago's negative two to sink his team to a 66-55 defeat in a critical league 4 matchup.
• After losing his first game of the season in league 6, Ryan Drzik has now won six in a row to lead the league.
• Through seven weeks only league 1 & league 3 have retained perfect symmetry.

• John Galvano made the "Most Points in a Loss in a 14 Team League" list for the second week in a row from league 6.
• On the other side of that coin, Ryan Drzik made the "Least Points in a Win in a 14 Team League" list for the second week in a row from league 6 and Mike Dipinto made the 12-team version of the same list in successive weeks from league 4.

Webb had seen his team perform absolutely miserably aside from San Diego's defense until Tony Romo erupted for 32 points in the 4 PM window. With Romo leading the way, Webb led 85-75 with Eli Manning & Lawrence Tynes left for Giovannetti on SNF. Heading into the game, Giovannetti looked the clear favorite, but things wouldn't be decided until late in the fourth quarter. Tynes' FG with 8:14 left in the game gave Giovannetti the lead before Manning tacked on another point on the Giants next possession, but with the giants still down and forced to throw the matchup wasn't through. Manning added 46 more yards for two more points and a 4 point lead before finally throwing the INT Webb needed with 1:08 for a one point Giovannetti win.

Hester's team featured five Saints players and would have lost handily if not for the second half comeback. Heading into MNF Whorton had Jeremy Maclin & Clinton Portis trying to overcome a 77-69 deficit. Shouldn't be easy, but he would be the favorite heading into the night. When all was said and done, Whorton came up two Portis rushing yards or seven Maclin receiving yards short of tying things. Celek came up two yards short of another point for Ashe himself.

McNair led 104-99 heading into MNF with Santana Moss against Brian Westbrook & David Akers for Alicea. Before the game Alicea was the clear favorite, but Brian Westbrook's unfortunate concussion before he could record a point put him at a disadvantage. If he had managed just two more rushing yards on his final carry he would have managed the point for a tie. Even as it was David Akers' 11 points in the first half had Alicea up 5 at halftime, but Santana Moss opened up the second half with a 2 point reception and had the lead down to a single point up until the Redskins last drive which saw back to back Moss 12-yard receptions for the two points McNair needed to win as the two minute warning struck in the game.

Allen led 62-59 heading into MNF with Donovan McNabb and Brent Celek up against the Philadelphia defense. Not a situation that's easy to handicap heading into the game. At kickoff the three point deficit turns into a seven point lead with two more blow coming within the first five minutes of the game as Philadelphia scored a long TD on the ground and Washington fumbled the ball. Once Philadelphia put a pick-six on the scoreboard with a minute left in the first quarter while McNabb hadn't gotten going yet the tone had been set. It wasn't quite over until the final few minutes of the game with Washington threatening to score late, but Whorton kneeled things out comfortably in the end...figuratively speaking.

Honorable Mention |
•Chad Luik 93, Jay Soester 83 (LG2)- Luik trailed Soester 83-71 with only DeSean Jackson left for him between the two. A pretty simple, stay out of the endzone and the lead should be safe situation. When Jackson broke a run for 67 yards less than two minutes into the game, the lead was just 2 points. Jackson seemed to vanish in the offense until he broke free on third and long close to the end of the third quarter to win the game for Luik.
•Will Moore 107, Matthew Reber 105 (LG4)- Tremendous scoreline, but relegated to honorable mention status with all players playing during the day games on Sunday and Reber losing in large part because he had his kicker on bye.
