ASASFL 2011-2012 Championship Results |
11:52 PM ET on 10/20/12 by Jay Soester |
With the Fantasy Baseball results updated, the 2011-2012 ASASFL Champions can be announced.
Champions League:
Anders Nilsson defended his championship with 234 points, 18 less than his winning total from last season. Brad Wilson finished second, eight points back. That's a two point increase over last season's winning margin. Dave Berrong rounded out the podium with 222 points. Brad Duff (212) and Greg Krause (203) were the rest of the top five. Heading into baseball, Berrong and Nilsson were tied for first with 151 points and Wilson was in third with 150 points. Nilsson's 83 points from baseball gave him the championship.
Super League:
Nick Hall won the third edition of the Super League thanks to his clean sweep of Fantasy Baseball. He came into the final game in third place, five points behind both Dan Haak and Matt Humpal, but ended up with 250 points, 13 more than Humpal in second place. Tyson Hester rounded out the podium thanks to having performed second best in Fantasy Baseball. He jumped up to 226 points from a tie for fourth place before the game. Doug Eden jumped from seventh place to fourth place while Dan Haak's second worst score in Fantasy Baseball dropped him to fifth place.
Third League:
Dave Berrong overcame the biggest deficit before the final game this season to win the Third League. He trailed Nathan Susanto 206-183 before sweeping the regular season of Fantasy Baseball and winding up with 265 points. Brad Wilson was in fourth place, 28 points behind Berrong and 51 behind the leader heading into Fantasy Baseball, but finished in a distant second with 234 points, scoring three less than Berrong for Fantasy Baseball. Aaron Freeman was third, a point behind Berrong, before the final game and finished third after it with 226 points. Nathan Susanto fell to fourth, with 224 points, after the final game from the lead before it. Anders Nilsson rounded out the top five before and after the final game.
Hopefully the ASASFL leagues return sooner than later, but congrats to those who earned endearing bragging rights.

2011-2012 Keeper Leagues Championship |
11:00 PM ET on 9/6/12 by Jay Soester |
The results for Fantasy Basketball bring an end to the 2011-2012 Keeper Leagues Championship. I apologize for the delay, there was a problem getting the roto data for the Third Division and I spent some time trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat before ultimately having to give up. Unfortunately, the fix was each Third Division member earning 17 points as their roto total.
Anders Nilsson is this season's winner at 888 points, 11 more than Brad Wilson in second place. Jay Soester finished third with 794 points with David Synychak (770) and Matt Humpal (761) rounding out the top five. Wilson managed to finish second overall despite being a part of the Second Division in Fantasy Football this season; Humpal cracked the top five with the same distinction. Nilsson's total was 31 points lower than Mike Miles' winning mark last season.
Nilsson finished within the top four in points for each game, with two wins, to earn the championship, but he finished second (.953) to Brad Wilson (.993) for the best ratio of anyone in all four games. Wilson was tops in two games and second in his division for the other two. Chad Gumm was third in ratio at .934; he finished seventh overall despite being in the Second Division of three games. Robert Flatt also cracked the top ten despite being in three Second Divisions. Tyson Hester was the best overall finisher of those in at least one Third Division at 13th despite being in two.
I've begun work setting up the Keeper Leagues Fantasy Basketball drafts and bid system. Watch the website for more information.

Keeper Leagues Fantasy Football Drafts & Bids |
9:21 PM ET on 5/5/12 by Jay Soester |
The 2012-2013 Keeper Leagues Fantasy Football drafts are now available. You can begin to submit your players to be kept for next season or submit a bid to get yourself a team. The bid system won't be completely sorted out until all promoted and relegated members pick their new teams, you can't currently bid for a team that's marked as "promotionchoice#" or "relegationchoice#" for that reason.
Last season's results are also available.
The deadline to select your new team if you were promoted or relegated last season is this Wednesday, May 9th at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the standings from last season to know where you are in the picking order; if you aren't first, submit your preferences in order.
The deadline to submit your players for next season is July 21st at 11:59 PM ET.
I anticipate the drafts starting in mid-August.
I'm working on the standings for Fantasy Hockey & Fantasy Basketball with the Basketball Rosters Assignment also available.

Fantasy Basketball Drafts Complete |
3:24 AM ET on 12/25/11 by Jay Soester |
The results for all three Keeper Leagues Fantasy Basketball drafts and all three ASASFL Fantasy Basketball drafts have been entered into Yahoo!. With most of them finishing up near Christmas, I've elected to gift everyone an updated lineup based on draft order. Unlike with autopick and live drafts, offline draft results aren't turned into pre-set lineups by Yahoo!.
Hopefully everyone stays safe for the holiday.

Help Needed & Draft Postponed |
1:47 AM ET on 12/7/11 by Jay Soester |
First, I have to announce that the Third League draft has been postponed to begin at 9:30 PM ET on Thursday while the Champions League draft has been moved back 24 hours to begin Friday at 8 PM ET. I apologize for the delay, but the drafts can't start until the Fantasy Basketball Drafts Assignment is done.
The Fantasy Basketball Drafts Assignment is a simple assignment that's available before all ASFL2 slow drafts begin. The basketball edition is worth three bonus points and requires a number to be looked up for the top 182 based on Yahoo!'s default rankings. If you can contribute to the list in any fashion, please reply to the thread and get started.
The second assignment available is a recruiting assignment. I need help trying to attract new members to the league with my personal schedule as busy as ever. Please help out by bumping this thread on Yahoo!'s message board if you notice that it's no longer on the first page of the Yahoo! Fantasy Golf message board. Up to seven bonus points are available for those that help.
The final assignment of need is a standings assignment. I need help setting up the standings pages and database for the ten ASFL2 Fantasy Football leagues from this season. I'll be updating the first post of the linked thread with the link to view each of our leagues for the year. If you're interested in helping, reply with the leagues you'd like to work on and the order the teams are listed in on the league's schedule page and I'll send an excel file formatted to where those helping just need to enter the game results and everything will be calculated as needed. Each league updated is worth three bonus points.
If you have any questions about any of the assignments, please reply to the relevant thread.
Don't forget, each member's bonus point total, up to 12% of the final championship point total at the end of the 2011-2012 season, will be added to the official championship standings for the season. Over the first three seasons of the league there have been between 52 and 79 points added in at the end of the season. Please help out where you can, the league can't survive, at least for free, without a little help from all involved.

ASASFL Fantasy Basketball Info Sent |
11:50 PM ET on 11/28/11 by Jay Soester |
The draft pages are now available with league IDs and passwords also emailed. If you need the ID resent, please email me.
The Champions League's draft order is determined by a draft of its own with the order in which you can select your pick being based on the championship standings from the 2010-2011 season. I need every member who doesn't want the best spot available to them to give me the draft picks they'd like before Wednesday, ET.
Tentative Start Dates:
Champions League: Thursday, December 8th at 10 PM ET.
Super League: Saturday, December 10th at 12 AM ET.
Third League: Tuesday, December 6th at 8 PM ET.
Please note that the draft start times are different based on my new personal schedule. If a draft starts at midnight, you'll need to be ready the night prior to the date listed. You should be able to perform all draft tasks aside from picking and those associated with the default list (until the Fantasy Basketball Drafts Assignment is completed). Admittedly, I'm too busy to test the actual picking mechanisms to verify there were no hiccups in adjusting files for the new season. Unfortunately, the Third League may become a de facto test as a result.
The last I've seen had free agency starting on December 9th, unfortunately that's just over two weeks before the season begins and I always reserve at least two weeks for drafts. With basketball having the shortest drafts, I'm making some exception, but that will have to lean toward the Keeper League drafts. I reserve the right to alter time limits as the draft progress to ensure it finishes on time.
I hope to send the information and sort out a time frame for the Keeper Leagues within the next two hours or Tuesday evening/night. If you're interested in a Keeper Leagues Fantasy Basketball team, place a bid as soon as possible, teams are likely to be given out by this coming weekend. I anticipate somewhere around five teams being available.
