ASASFL Hiatus
5:53 PM ET on 8/25/12 by Jay Soester
I'd imagine most of those affected realized this by now, but the ASASFL leagues will be going on hiatus for the coming season.

I made the decision back in June for a few reasons.

-I need to decrease my current workload in order to work on progressing the league in other ways while my available time is shrinking as is.
-I'm under the impression that the leagues may have become a burden to those that qualify for two of the three leagues on top of the leagues for the main competition.
-There is some redundancy between the Champions League & Keeper Leagues Premier Division as the best tend to be in both.
-My goal was always to create a reward for qualifying and/or winning the leagues, be it monetary or simple trophy. Unfortunately, the league finances have never allowed me to do that. Once that's possible, I'll likely revive the leagues, though they'll likely be 12 team leagues at most.

With the Third League no longer around to reward those that accumulated the most bonus points in a season, I'll now be creating a late league in each draft game. The top 15-20 in the most relevant standings (either the prior season or the current season) will be invited to have a second team in the main competition, on a first-come-first-serve basis. The draft will always be on a different day and time than any of the leagues originally announced. With my time limited, I need as much help as I can get and will therefore be trying to place an added importance on bonus points.

Those that would qualify each season will still be acknowledged even if the leagues don't come to be.

2012-2013 Qualifiers:
Champions League: Jay Soester, Brad Duff, Nathan Susanto, Anders Nilsson, Brad Wilson, Mark Yothers, Aaron Freeman, Russ Goatcher, Michael Lytle, Robert Flatt, Matt Humpal, Robert Boyce, Dave Berrong & Jeffery Murowsky
Super League: Greg Krause, Brian Secord, Tyson Hester, David Cords, Nick Hall, Mike Brekke, Tom Vobejda, Kevin Cheek, Dario Ambrozewiez, Chris Wanned, Matthew Hardman, Don Greenslate, Kevin Whorton & Susan Gantz
Third League: Jay Soester, Brad Wilson, Andrew Senger, Don Greenslate, Nathan Susanto, Anders Nilsson, Kevin Whorton, David Cords, Nick Hall, Patrick Cooley, Dave Berrong, Michael Byrd Sr., Brad Duff & Aaron Freeman.

I anticipate setting up the late league for those that qualify in the next 48 hours. Watch your inbox.

An ASFL2 season always has more than the overall championship at stake. Six conference champions were crowned, a Rookie of the Year was determined, a New Member of the Year was determined, five tier winners were named, and two sets of 14 members qualified for the 2012-2013 ASASFL Champions League & Super League.

The 2010-2011 season had a lot more than just Mike Miles' championship at stake. Six conference champions were crowned, a Rookie of the Year was determined, a New Member of the Year was determined, five tier winners were named, and fourteen members qualified for the 2011-2012 ASASFL Champions League & Super League.

2010-2011 ASFL2 Championship Results
11:35 PM ET on 6/17/11 by Jay Soester
After 525 days of competition, the 2010-2011 season is finally in the books.

Mike Miles used Fantasy Premier League to finally vault over Anders Nilsson by three points after gaining 38 points on him in Fantasy Hockey and Fantasy Basketball. From there, Miles matched or bettered Nilsson's championship points earned in the final six games: NBA Standings Pickem (14-8), NBA Playoffs Pickem (3-0), NHL Standings Pickem (11-11), Overall Standings Pickem (4-2), NHL Playoffs Pickem (2-2) and Overall Playoffs Pickem (3-0). That's 14 points gained for a final margin of victory of 17 points. That margin allows Miles to retain the record for smallest margin of defeat in the inaugural season at ten points.

There were 23 games factored into the 2010-2011 standings plus bonus points. Mikes Miles was the only member to earn at least one point championship point in all 23 games for the season...
