Premier League Pickem Results |
12:08 AM ET on 6/5/15 by Jay Soester |
Congrats to Joe Hiegel for winning Premier League Pickem with 932 points. George Brady was the only other member to top the 900 point mark in second with 913. Anders Nilsson (897), Jay Soester (864) and Andrew Maher (863) rounded out the top five. Hiegel moved up to the top spot after finishing second last season.
Hiegel earned the victory behind his 57 perfect games, three more than Brady, eight more than Nilsson and 12 more than anyone else. Jason managed the most non-0 picks, where he had at least one team score and/or the game result correct with 303, 79.74%. Brady managed the most correct team scores with 274 while Hiegel had the most correct result picks with 203. Here are the full results.
I'd like to thank everyone who participated, particularly those who neared the 380 pick mark. A special thanks goes to Nathan Susanto for helping maintain the game and providing the weekly Premier League Preview articles.
With the season now complete, take a minute to look at the standings and statistics from this season...

2012-2013 Championship Standings Update |
1:02 AM ET on 1/2/15 by Jay Soester |
Happy New Year to everyone. I submit this piece on the 13 year anniversary of the start of the original league that ran under the ASFL name, the American Simulation Football League. Time flies.
The standings on the left side of the screen have been updated again. The results from the 2012-2013 editions of NFL Standings Pickem, NBA Standings Pickem and Overall Standings Pickem have been added to the championship standings.
A very belated congratulations are in order to Kraig Monkman for winning NFL Standings Pickem with 135 points, 11 more than Colt Ciccone and Charles Yelverton in second.
Congratulations also go out to Patrick Cooley for winning NBA Standings Pickem with 196 points, two more than Nenad Mitevski in second and five more than Aaron Freeman in third. Joe Hiegel and Jay Soester finished tied for fourth with 180 points to round out the top five.
Cooley parlayed his NBA Standings Pickem victory into an Overall Standings Pickem win with 419 points, three more than Jeffery Murowsky in second. Mike Brekke also topped the 400 point mark with 405 in third place. NHL Standings Pickem didn't take place in 2012-2013 due to the short turnaround after the NHL lockout.

Fall Football Pickem Results |
11:57 PM ET on 12/30/14 by Jay Soester |
The end of the NFL regular season means the end of our fall football pickem games.
A big congratulations are in order to Joe Hiegel for becoming the first in league history to win both NFL Pickem and NFL Locks. With four seasons of each now in the book, not only did he win both in the same season, he's the first to win both over the course of the history of the games.
Hiegel's NFL Locks winning score of 1899 points is the lowest in the history of the game, four lower than the previous record. He finished 47 points ahead of George Brady in second place and 114 ahead of Jay Soester in third. Anders Nilsson and Jason Malphurs rounded out the top five. George Brady had the best pick record at 70-15 with Soester second in terms of record, a game back, Hiegel third another game back, and Malphurs fourth a further game back. Hiegel lived off have a point differential over 100 points better than Brady while also earning two more weight points.
The winning total for NFL Pickem was also the lowest in history with Hiegel putting up 8063 for the victory, 26 less than the previous low mark. Jay Soester cracked another podium in second with 8047 points while Doug Gehr (8041), Nathan Susanto (8038) and Anders Nilsson (8015) rounded out the top five and the list of those reaching the 8000 point mark. Chris Wanned had the best pick record at 175-81, but finished 12th. Gehr and Soester tied for the second best record at 174-82 with Hiegel and Mark Yothers (11th place) tying for fourth at 172-84. Hiegel had a 14 point lead over Soester, a 17 point lead over Gehr, a 22 point lead over Susanto and a 52 point lead over Nilsson going into the final game of the season, all mathematically withing range of passing him. I emphasized mathematically, because them all having similar picks clinched the victory for Hiegel with his correctly picking the Steelers' score for the final game being a fitting end to the victory.
Congrats are also in order to Nathan Susanto for winning College Football Pickem for the second season in a row with 23856 points. He finished 540 points ahead of Jay Soester in second and virtually had the championship locked up weeks before the end. Joe Hiegel rounded out the podium in capping a nice fall for him. Steve Steffy and Tom Vobejda rounded out the top five. Not surprisingly, Susanto finished with the best pick record at 295-102, a full six games better than Soester (289-108). Steffy (288-109), Vobejda (287-110) and Hiegel (287-110) rounded out the top five pick records. Susanto's winning point total was 776 points worse than his total from last season while making one more pick this season. It was also 535 points worse than Soester's winning total from two seasons ago despite there being seven more games this season.
I'd like to thank everyone that participated this season. Hopefully everyone will return next season. If you have any feedback for the games, use the message board to let me know.

2012-2013 Championship Standings Update |
7:42 PM ET on 12/27/14 by Jay Soester |
You may have noticed the standings to the left side of the page are slightly different. I've updated the final results from the 2012-2013 editions of Fantasy NFL Playoffs, College Bowl Pickem and Fantasy Premier League.
A very belated congrats are in order to Jay Soester for winning Fantasy Premier League, just 12 points ahead of Brad Wilson.
Congratulations also go out to Tom Vobejda for winning College Bowl Pickem with 111 points, two more than Steve Wilken. Steve Steffy (108), Mike Miles (106) and Joe Hiegel (105) finished off the top five. Wilken finished with the best pick record at 26-9.
Lastly, congratulations to Dave Berrong for winning Fantasy NFL Playoffs with 362 points, five more than Greg Krause in second and nine more than Ed Peck in third. Colt Ciccone and Steve Coumbis cracked the top five as well.

I had the standings saved after each game update, but a power outage caused me to lose them. Brad Wilson gained 1.86 on Jay Soester for the top spot, but Greg Krause and Patrick Cooley were the big gainers as they moved up three spots each.
Eleven items remain outstanding for the 2012-2013 season: Fantasy Basketball, Fantasy Hockey, NBA Playoffs Pickem, NFL Playoffs Pickem, NHL Playoffs Pickem, Overall Playoffs Pickem, NBA Standings Pickem, NFL Standings Pickem, NHL Standings Pickem, Overall Standings Pickem and Bonus Points. I'm hoping to update a few more in the coming days, but my priority now shifts to setting up Fantasy NFL Playoffs for the current season.
Premier League Pickem, College Bowl Pickem, Fantasy Premier League (ID: 14923/Password: buouq5z) are currently available. Fantasy Golf, Fantasy NASCAR and Fantasy Baseball should be available shortly.

MLB Standings Pickem Results |
11:22 PM ET on 2/16/13 by Jay Soester |
Congrats to Charles Yelverton for winning the 2012-2013 edition of MLB Standings Pickem with 137 points. Jeffery Murowsky was second at 133 points. Matt Humpal, Jeremy Galloway and Matt Gordon all tied for third and rounded out the top five with 129 points. Murowsky earned 0.5 extra championship points for scoring the most points on league pick points (57). Jeremy Galloway earned the extra points for having the most divisional pick points (51). Ryan Drzik earned the bonus for having the most record points (26). Michael Lytle earned the extra half point for scoring the most on playoff picks (23); he and Tim Schneider were the only members to pick the Giants to win the World Series before the season began and earn an extra half point for that as well. With the bonus, Michael Lytle came away with the most championship points from the game with 15.75.
I hope to have the 2013-2014 edition of MLB Standings Pickem set up in the next few weeks.
The 2012-2013 championship standings are now updated with the results. Brad Wilson shrunk Jay Soester's lead at the top from 36.91 points to 29.53 points. Nathan Susanto stayed in third and gained a small amount of ground while Steve Steffy jumped ahead of Brad Duff from fifth to fourth by 0.17 points. The rest of the top ten stayed the same while Charles Yelverton's game win jumped him from 15th to 13th.
When updating the game results, I noticed a mistake in MLB Playoffs Pickem which effected the top ten. The Giants had been scored as winning the World Series in seven games instead of four. The game results and championship points have been fixed. I apologize for the error.

MLB Playoffs Pickem Results |
1:57 AM ET on 2/7/13 by Jay Soester |
Congrats to Steve Wilken for winning the 2012-2013 edition of MLB Playoffs Pickem with 24 points. Katie Tropp & Steve Steffy rounded out the top three at 22 points. The top three were each one of the eight members to correctly pick the Giants to win the World Series and earn 0.5 extra championship points for it. Skip Wilson was the highest ranking participant to not pick the Giants in fourth. He also earned 0.5 extra championship points for having the most correct picks with eight. He was also one of the six members to earn 0.5 extra championship points for correctly predicting three series lengths.
The was the first part of my attempt to put a dent in what's fallen behind. Hopefully more progress will be made in short order.
The 2012-2013 championship standings are now updated with the results. Jay Soester expanded his lead to 36.32 points from 29.09 points with Brad Wilson still in second place. Nathan Susanto jumped into third ahead of Brad Duff while Steve Steffy did the same of Anders Nilsson into fifth place. Michael Lytle was the only new member in the top ten as he nudged out Dario Ambrozewiez for the final spot.

Super Bowl Pool Results |
2:07 AM ET on 2/4/13 by Jay Soester |
Results for all four of 2013's Super Bowl Pools are now available. In a show of good faith, I've waived the competition rule stipulating that 3% of the pot goes toward covering costs associated for each pool where the house had a winning square (that applies to all pools aside from pool #1).
Congrats to all who saw their box result in a return on their investment. I will begin sending winnings out on Monday via PayPal. Unfortunately, more than $500 was at stake, but I can only send out $500 per month based on PayPal guidelines, as a result, some will likely receive their winnings in March.
Winners:
Pool 1:
1Q: Chad Luik ($57.61)
2Q: Bobby Boyce ($96.01)
3Q: Bobby Boyce ($57.61)
4Q: Trevor Rubly ($172.82)
Pool 2:
1Q: House ($51)
2Q: Jon Klaybor ($85)
3Q: Nick Alicea ($51)
4Q: Chad Luik ($153)
Pool 3:
1Q: House ($10.20)
2Q: Tom Courtney ($17.00)
3Q: Brad Wilson ($10.20)
4Q: Bobby Boyce ($30.60)
Pool 4:
1Q: Steve Wilken ($10.20)
2Q: Tom Courtney ($17.00)
3Q: House ($10.20)
4Q: Tom Courtney ($30.60)
NCAA Tournament Pickem entries will hopefully be set up in a week or so. Fantasy Golf will be updated Monday afternoon or evening.

Fantasy Football Results |
3:19 AM ET on 1/20/13 by Jay Soester |
A big thank you to the four members who helped put the standings together: Patrick Cooley, David Cords, Brad Wilson & Aaron Freeman. Each will earn bonus points for their contribution.
Congrats to all league regular season and playoff champions across the 11 leagues:
League 1: Scott Mcinnis
League 2: John Duffill/Corey Beaudoin
League 3: Charles Finch/Nenad Mitevski
League 4: Chad Luik/Jason Oroszi
League 5: Scott Roselund/Matthew Moravec
League 6: Jeff King/Patrick Gentry
League 7: Colman Roberts
League 8: Koree Wait
League 9: Darrell Whitford/Dario Ambrozewiez
League 10: Neal Head/Susan Gantz
League 11: Randall Reutell/John Stillman
John Duffill and Randall Reutell tied for the best record at 12-1 with Scott Mcinnis and Charles Finch a half game back. Scott Mcinnis had the most points on the season with 1355. Only Neal Head (1316) and Jeff King (1309) topped the 1300 point mark behind him to average 100 points per game. Jeff King had the highest standardized point total within his league at 2.211, a strong 0.367 ahead of Neal Head in second. STDPTS is a measure of how much a team dominated its league. With all ASFL2 Fantasy Football leagues having the same number of teams for the first time in league history, the SLGPTS standings mirrored the points standings. As such, Scott Mcinnis led the way at 2.584 to earn the full seven extra points. Mcinnis also had the best combination score at 4.930 to earn ten extra championship points. League 3 proved to be the toughest, with the most points and the highest average team points rank.
Congrats to Scott Mcinnis for earning the most championship points with 102.33. Jeff King (97.64), Koree Wait (97.28), John Duffill (95.51) and Charles Finch (91.43) rounded out the top five. Three more topped 90 points. Of those in the top ten overall before the game results were included, only Brad Duff finished in the top ten for Fantasy Football. Brad Wilson was next closest at 14th then Steve Steffy was third best from the top ten in 21st. The championship standings pages are now updated with the results. Jay Soester saw his lead shrink from 31.01 to 28.09, with Brad Wilson now his nearest challenger and Brad Duff rounding out the podium with the prior podium attendants (Nathan Susanto & Anders Nilsson) each falling down two places. Soester was the only member in the top 20 to retained their pre-football ranking, as you'd expect from a tier 1 game, the amount of points earned impacted the standings extensively.
Congrats to Neal Head for winning Tier 1 for 2012-2013 with 194.95 points between Fantasy Baseball & Fantasy Football. He edged out Chad Luik by 0.63 points. Brad Wilson (187.75), Nenad Mitevski (185.73) & Kobi Akers (185.64) rounded out the top five. If the Champions League returns next season, Head will have already clinched a spot.

NFL Pickem Results |
12:47 AM ET on 1/15/13 by Jay Soester |
Congrats to Michael Flanagan for winning NFL Pickem with 8089 points, or 31.6 per game. He edged out Mike Brekke in second place by nine points, after Brekke gained 65 points on him in the final week. Chad Gumm rounded out the podium with 7949 points, a single point ahead of Nathan Susanto with Colt Ciccone just three points back of Susanto in fifth place.
John Wright managed the most week wins for the season with three and earned the two extra championship points for topping the week win standings. Aaron Gold, Anders Nilsson & Brian Secord earned 1.5 championship points for tying for second with two week wins.
Charles Wishon had the highest pick percentage at 0.680 on a 174-82 record, two games ahead of Mike Brekke and three ahead of Colt Ciccone, Mark Yothers, Chris Wanned & Michael Lytle. Despite toppping the percentage charges, Wishon finished just 11th in the overall standings. The overall winner, Michael Flanagan, finished four games back in a tie for seventh place.
John Wright earned the most championship points from the game with 53.69. Mike Brekke was second with 52.42, while Nathan Susanto (50.73), Aaron Gold (50.69), and Michael Flanagan (50.64) also topping 50 championship points earned.

NFL Locks Results |
9:07 PM ET on 1/6/13 by Jay Soester |
Congrats to Jim Hansen for winning the 2012-2013 edition of NFL Locks at 2033 points, the same winning total from last season. His record for the season was 70-15, three games worse than last season's victor. Charles Yelverton was second at 2019 points with David Cords in third at 2004 points to round out the podium and the list of members to top 2000 points. Joe Hiegel finished sixth overall, but managed to tie those three for best pick record.
Hansen also led the way with four week wins to earn two extra championship points. Doyle Ashe was second with three to earn 1.33 championship points while Charles Yelverton and Mark Yothers were tied for third with two week wins for 0.67 championship points.
Cords earned the most pick points with 845 to receive the extra five championship points for topping everyone. He also earned the most points from pick weights, but there's no bonus for that.
Cords and Anders Nilsson earned the final week wins of the season at 209 points. They won the tiebreaker with Matt Humpal by having a higher scoring weight five pick. Twenty-one members went a perfect 5-0 for the final week to earn an extra 0.5 championship points.
The 2012-2013 overall standings pages are now updated to reflect the game's results. Thanks to everyone that took part.
